    See, stuff like this actually makes a difference and should be celebrated. Postponing games that you'll make up at some point doesn't quite have the same impact.

    This is the MLB version of posting a black square on social media. Whatever. They'll get 10 seconds of publicity on ESPN before they switch over to talk about LeBron again, so I hope that's worth it.

    If the Jays actually gave up a top 30 prospect, something Atkins never does, for a 1 month rental, then maybe they are planning on trying to bring him back next year. It takes a while after TJS to come back strong. This is Walker's first season back, and even this is a truncated one. Maybe they see this as more than a rental.

    Looks like the Pirates CF right now is a washed Jarrod Dyson, so Alford should get a chance to play. Wish him all the best.

    A's/Rangers and Phillies/Nats both postponed today. I don't think the Jays are playing tonight.

    Wouldn’t surprise me if expanded playoffs stays next year (too much money involved and no guarantee fans will be allowed back at full capacity by next April). Even if it isn’t there next year and it’s back to the normal playoff format, I think the Jays can jump from .500ish team (where they are now) to a playoff contender with the right moves. Yes there’s a strong chance the Jays make it this year and Bauer/Ryu in a 3 game series gives us a shot to advance but I don’t think the team is ready for that step yet. If Bauer were locked up for at least another year, then that changes things.

    Yeah if they postpone tonight’s game no one is going to give a s***. They aren’t scoring any PR points by doing anything today. The NBA has already said they are coming back to finish the playoffs. The other leagues don’t have to feel pressured to do anything anymore. If anything they should have done it yesterday. Day late and a dollar short.

    The NBA is coming back likely on Friday, and Betts is leading off for the Dodgers today. If the Jays and Red Sox didn’t think to “boycott” yesterday, then it seems pointless to do it now. ESPN will mention it in passing and then move on to the NBA again.

    I'd rather overpay for Bauer in free agency than trade value for him now (4 weeks of control) and potentially lose him for nothing.

    Yeah I think there's a strong chance the NBA season is over. There's a lot of money on the line, not only for this season but also future seasons, but I don't see how they can boycott one game and then go back to normal after that. They have tripled down on their social activism after yesterday. I don't think they can turn back now.
