What's annoying is Montoyo let Stripling face Ohtani, Trout, and Rendon in the last inning, yet had no intention of letting him go beyond the 5th despite the low pitch count. Could have just taken him out after 4 if that was the case and let a fresh arm throw to the top of the lineup, especially since Thornton can eat up several innings. Giving up a bomb to Trout is not a sign of weakness so I would have kept Stripling in as well, but unfortunately this is the way baseball is now.
