    What a mess in Texas. With the team crashing towards futility (2-8 in last 10, -33 run differential), the team just cleaned house: Scott Baker and Josh Wilson DFAd Rougned Odor and Luis Sardinas recalled (2 of their top prospects) Joe Saunders to bullpen when he returns Justin Germano recalled (watch him get lit up vs. either Colorado or Boston in the next few days.) Gotta wonder if the noose is tightening on Ron Washington's job security, along with GM Jon Daniels (for making that awful Prince Fielder trade, which is looking horrid for Texas and great for Detroit, not adding a decent SP, and injuries.)

    Hey, at least the Jays are still in better shape than the Texas Rangers. Thanks to injuries and poor performance, along with a huge negative run differential (-33, 2nd worst to Houston), the Rangers just blew up their roster heavily today. Prospects Rougned Odor and Luis Sardinas have been called up, former Jay Justin Germano is up as well, Donnie Murphy to DL, Josh Wilson DFAd, Scott Baker DFAd.. we have yet to see AA do something panicky like this so far this year, except for FINALLY getting Morrow back on the DL and not hurting our rotation and bullpen. Just wish we had a better alternative than Happ.

    Blue Jays-Official ‏@BlueJays The @BlueJays have activated 1B ADAM LIND from the 15-day DL and have optioned RHP CHAD JENKINS to @BuffaloBisons (AAA) No surprise here. Nice to see we're back to a full bench. Now to see what happens when Casey Janssen returns this weekend/early next week. And Chad Jenkins wasn't pitching much here anyway, especially as the starters are going deeper.

    Well, regardless, the Angels already have a 5-0 hole to dig out of.

    While we're chasing NY and Baltimore, Texas continues to implode. They're getting blown out by the Rockies AGAIN. Nolan Arenado's streak continues.. A Texas loss and we're only 0.5 out of the wild card, currently led by NY/Baltimore and Seattle(which won't last.. they're due for another slump.)

    Comedy of errors in L.A. Cowgill commits an error colliding with Trout on a fly ball, Santiago is ineffective, and now he and Pujols may be hurt.. oh, and the Angels are down 4-0.

    No kidding. The long list of prospects Ruben Amaro Jr. traded includes: Travis D'Arnaud, Anthony Gose, Kyle Drabek, Johnathon Singleton, Michael Taylor, Johnathon Villar, Jason Knapp, Carlos Carrasco, Jason Donald, Lou Marson.. Singleton and D'Arnaud, and Villar, are the only ones who have panned out, though.

    Sportsnet needs to stop using the simulator for MLB 14 The Show.. it's never right.

    BTW, O's/Rays is tied at 2. Rays win and we're only .5 out of first, pending the result of the Yankees game, which is unfavorable tonight for the Yanks, who are sending out Vidal Nuno, who will likely get torched vs. the Angels lineup.

    Santos is pitching better tonight.. of course, with Janssen due back soon, he won't be back closing anytime soon.

    Sergio Santos now in in mop-up duty, and Thole in to catch. Wonder if they'll put Navarro on the DL after his struggles to run.

    I wonder if Navarro ends up on the DL instead of Kratz going down.. Dioner still can't run.

    Long night for Boston.. in the 11th because Tazawa blew a save in the 8th against Brandon Phillips. Boston sure misses last year's offense..

    Tampa is set to lose to Baltimore, who are also set to lose Matt Wieters after this game, especially with all the talk Wieters may need Tommy John surgery. Can't keep him at DH, as that would mean Nelson Cruz butchering in the OF every day, regardless of his leading offense.

    He's going on the DL after this game. Caleb Joseph is expected to be purchased from AAA Norfolk after the game. Why the O's even let Wieters play at DH with no backup catcher is really questionable.

    We could leapfrog Tampa and possibly Boston, depending on what happens in those games. And of course there's the Yankees game.

    No save. Stroman came in with the game tied. And besides, Loup's coming in for the lefties to get a save.

    And it's Stroman back out there. Why not? Nice to get some MLB experience, and save our bullpen.

    BTW, OT, but power just went out at the Rays game because of a lightning strike. They really need a new stadium in Tampa..
