  1. Heading into the weekend series, the AL East remains garbage.. Yankees -13 O's -1 Blue Jays -2 Rays -10 Red Sox -14 Only 5 teams in the AL have positive differentials, in Oakland (+59), L.A. Angels (+40) Detroit (+9.. but they've had a lot of rainouts), K.C. (+5), Chicago (+4). And former darling Texas is regressing, at -21. Good thing they have Prince Fielder and Shin Shoo-Choo to hit a lot.. oh wait. All the good teams are in the NL, mostly the NL East(last place Miami is .500!) and West.
  2. Tillman still hasn't got out of the 1st inning..he's walked 2 runs in already. Something must be wrong with him, especially considering he threw 49 pitches! Baltimore's bullpen is going to be gassed by the time they reach Minnesota tomorrow.
  3. Did Buck just say Boston is 13-13? What a dingbat if he did.. the Sox are 13-15, .5 up on Toronto, and 1 up on last place(Tampa). And the division's gonna get tighter, as the Yankees are losing again to the punchless Mariners.
  4. Tillman is struggling vs. the Pirates so far.. Gaby Sanchez just had a 13 pitch at bat, and Tillman has thrown 36 pitches in the first inning. Luckily, the Pirates can't score.
  5. And hurts Melky in the process.. I can imagine Gose or Mastro are on call as we speak..
  6. And Danny Duffy gets yanked after 2 batters. His control is way off tonight..
  7. Yep, Harang's crashing back to earth, giving up 10H, 9ER, 2 HR, 1BB in 4.2IP.
  8. As much as the Jays are struggling, most of the AL East is struggling. Outside of the Yankees, everyone is within a game of each other, all with negative run differentials. There's no real runaway team in the AL right now outside of Oakland. All the strong competition is in the NL East and NL West, and Milwaukee(they're 6.5 up on St. Louis right now!)
  9. Bet Boston is thinking about Stanton as soon as the Marlins decide to trade him, since they have a top system.. but it's still a ways off with Victorino there for another 2 years.
  10. With Loria as owner, he'll be pawning them off as soon as they get expensive. Stanton first, then Fernandez.
  11. Yes, Gibbons has made mistakes, we know, and we know AA and Beeston have made some errors.. but this could be said for many ownerships, not just Toronto. Pete Walker should be fired, because of the issues with the pitching staff (28th in bullpen ERA, better than "contending" Detroit, who have worse bullpen issues than us, and 23rd in starter's ERA). Thought I'd also mention Tampa Bay is near the bottom in many categories as well, and their bullpen is even more overworked than ours. But still.. Pete Walker needs to take the fall.
  12. Bryan Hoch Michael Pineda has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of teres major muscle (back). Will be seen by Dr. Chris Ahmad tomorrow in NYC. Well, it was good while it lasted for the Yanks.. hope Tanaka can carry this team, because Sabathia isn't doing it.
  13. Mike Zunino is giving the Yankees nightmares, with a 4-4 night. And Sabathia didn't pitch well again.
  14. This is getting overturned...why can't we catch a break?
  15. No kidding! Jackie Bradley Jr. and Alex Gordon have robbed him a lot in the last few days.
  16. Wow, look at all the people dressed as seats tonight... of course, KC is 26th in attendance, so it's no surprise. And nice HR by Bautista.
  17. Ugh, Stefan Romero is terrible..
  18. Man, the Mariners are bad.. BTW, the Red Sox are making Bedard look somewhat decent right now.. 2H, 2BB, 3K in 3.1 IP as I type.
  19. And even more idiotic was that Zaun just said that McGowan should've been in AAA to build his pitch count, not realizing he would've been claimed off waivers, as McGowan had no options.
  20. That the Jays are a terrible organization who won't give players like Goins extended looks.. not realizing that Goins has had plenty of time to try to hit, and has failed miserably.
  21. And so far, Negrych is hitting .500/.500/.700 with 10 PAs, 5 H and 1 RBIs. Too early, though.
