  1. As expected John Gibbons has yanked Santos from the closer role. Aaron Loup will be the closer for the time being until Janssen returns. Considering his numbers outside the Cleveland game, it's the right move.
  2. Ok, that works. Hey, at least we're not putting Sierra out their with a LHP anymore..
  3. Sorry, I was a little slow. Please merge this thread.
  4. #SNBarry Davis Judging by the #bluejays lineup card, it must be a starter going on DL. I see Happ, Buehrle, Hutch throwing. Could be Morrow Considering Morrow's struggles, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Morrow.
  5. Well, looks like Gibbons' move lasted a day.. Reyes-SS Cabrera-LF Bautista-RF Encarnacion-1B Lawrie-3B Rasmus-CF Tolleson-2B Thole-C Dickey-P
  6. And Boston will cheap out and let him end up with the Dodgers, Angels, Yankees, etc, just like they did with Ellsbury.
  7. Tanaka just avoided a Happ-like situation on the mound, as he was nearly hit in the head on Loney's line drive.
  8. Well, surprising Sierra got claimed. It may have more to do with Eaton's injury than anything. And the AAA options in Charlotte were: Blake Tekotte, Gorkys Hernandez, Denis Phipps, Jared Mitchell None of them are hitting, BTW. Hey, at least it forces the Jays to use Gose now, like they SHOULD have out of spring training.
  9. Chris Leroux probably has pitched his last game for the Yanks. He's given up 3 ER in 0.1 IP.
  10. Finally, the Rays have broken through in the 14th thanks to Wil Myers. 6-5 Rays. Better hope Tanaka pitches a gem tomorrow for the Yanks.. their bullpen is very taxed.
  11. Good thing Darth Vader didn't hit the furry mascot Gapper behind Mr. Redlegs.. I personally know Gapper(his performer I mean.) And BTW, worst first pitch ever! He wasn't using the force there.
  12. Montreal native Chris Leroux is now in for the Yanks in the 14th.. and it's still tied at 5!
  13. If they could get Santos to AAA it would help.. but he's out of options because Chicago and Toronto burned his minors options when he was a SS/3B.
  14. And the Yankees and Rays are burning their pens to the ground as we speak, as that game is in the 13th, and the Yanks choked in the 12th trying to score the winning run with a weird 4-3-3-6-3-4-3-4-5-2 double play (really!) Chris Leroux, who played in the WBC for Canada, is warming up in the pen for the Yankees.
  15. Barry Davis @SNBarryDavis John Gibbons hinted that changes are coming in pen. Won't say what but more than once said they miss Janssen and McGowan in pen #bluejays Could McGowan be going back to the pen? And the sound of what he said likely means Delabar or Cecil may be closing instead of Santos.
  16. JPA is still struggling... and he's only playing today because Chirinos is hurt/sick.
  17. Bautista and Edwin have multiple years left on their contracts. THey're not going anywhere unless a team(s) wants to sell their farm. Melky, maybe, as he's a free agent.
  18. San Diego, Pittsburgh and Cleveland, and possibly Texas and Seattle will be selling at the deadline. Money needs to be considered as well.. a lot of these teams are tapped out financially, and can't take anymore payroll.
  19. No, no and no. It's too tight an AL East to even considering trading anybody. Much of the division is struggling, not just the Jays.
  20. While Santos blew the game for us.. the Rays bullpen just gave up the tying run to Jacoby Ellsbury, tying the Rays/Yankees game at 5.
  21. We need to do something about Santos.. that's 3 blown saves. And this was the worst. Need to do something about Morrow as well.. we shouldn't have won this game, especially the way he pitched.
  22. Kratz is likely here until Adam Lind returns. They'll likely keep Juan Francisco as a bench bat, going back to a 4-man bench.
  23. Considering the bullpen usage lately, Loup giving us 2.1 innings really helps. Also nice to see Hutchison, McGowan and Buehrle giving us innings this week. We've fallen into a tie for 4th in bullpen usage.
  24. Electric Orioles prospect Kevin Gausman is going to be out a while: Roch Kubatko ‏@masnRoch Gausman had an X-ray which apparently revealed the intercostal strain. Could end up on minor league disabled list. #orioles
