  1. Another error for Bogaerts.. and Boston threw him under the bus by signing Stephen Drew.
  2. Wow! Another HR by EE! Mujica was dumb there.. should've IBBd him.
  3. Free agent signing. And Mujica has been equally terrible in Boston as he was in St. Louis.
  4. Doubront's season is over it looks like.. he must've just blown out his elbow. Wouldn't be surprising.. his velocity has been bad all night.
  5. Wow, is Boston ever snakebitten. Great DP by Lawrie and Kratz!
  6. My guess is that either someone worked with Happ, or he's finally fully healthy and over back issues.
  7. .299 SLG? Pretty sad for a CF.. Unfortunately, Boston has no other options to upgrade over any of their MLB OFs.
  8. Wow. That was just destroyed by EE. Gotta be over 400+ ft. And does anyone think Doubront is pitching injured? He's been throwing mostly high 80s.. and as we know, high 80s fastballs get destroyed, like EE's homer.
  9. How long until JPA is playing indie ball for a team such as the Somerset Patriots? We'll probably never see him again, especially once Soto returns. It's amazing he actually set records for futility for an MLB players in both Toronto and Texas. Chris Gimenez called up BTW in a corresponding move. At least he can do something.. catch and play multiple positions.
  10. Well, we're only 1 game out of 1st and 0.5 back of a wild card, if that helps.
  11. Not really (.249/.349/.396) vs Lefties compared to (.240/.321/.365) vs. Righties. Boston's offense is 3rd worst in the AL, just ahead of Houston and Seattle. That 10-4 record vs. lefties just doesn't convince me. Also, Boston has yet to crack double-digits in runs this season. The best thing for the Jays to do vs. Doubront tomorrow is to DH Kratz and have Navarro catching, and have Lawrie at 3B and Tolleson at 2B.
  12. Regarding the attendance, keep in mind we have not had a lot of games with the Yankees and Red Sox yet. We also haven't had many weekend home games either. It'll pick up this weekend, as we have 3 straight weekend series(I have tickets for the Royals and Cardianls series, BTW)
  13. The reason the roof hasn't been open is due to a awful winter and a chilly, wet spring, making it difficult for the Jays to test the roof. Jays have no control over the weather. Hopefully by next homestand the roof will be open, as the weather is expected to warm by then.
  14. Regardless of what happens, depending on the Yankees/Pirates game, we'll be 1.5 back (division) and 0.5 games out of the wild card, as Baltimore stunk it up vs. the Royals.
  15. It could be a sign that Jackie Bradley Jr. is not impressing the Red Sox brass, and the Sox are looking for a spark, possibly from Mookie Betts, as their season is spiraling downward. Bradley Jr. is hitting .200/.301/.296 with a 16/42 BB/K ratio, and a K-rate of 33.6%. If Boston had better options, Bradley would be in AAA right now. Unfortunately, none of Nava, Brentz, or Hassan are impressing. Betts in CF is a sign Boston will be calling him up soon because of their continued struggles in the OF in both AAA and the majors.
  16. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bisons-baseball/blue-jays-weigh-all-options-regarding-herds-romero-20140517 Some of the details in the story: -Romero has knee issues apparently. -Jays considering demoting him to AA, extended spring training, the DL, or the bullpen. -And of course, we all saw him walk 9 in his last start.
  17. Drew Butera is pitching for the Dodgers for the 2nd time in a week.. maybe they should convert him to a reliever full time. It's better than his inability to hit as a catcher.
  18. Gio Gonzalez headed for MRI.. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/nationals-vs-mets-gio-gonzalez-struggles-in-second-straight-start-as-washington-falls-5-2/2014/05/17/efb2e1bc-de14-11e3-8009-71de85b9c527_story.html Please, not another TJS...
  19. With Nick Martinez pitching? Don't bet on it. That Darvish game was one the Rangers needed.. otherwise, they'd likely be at risk of a sweep. This Rangers team is REALLY bad right now, possibly worse than the Astros. At least the Astros have plenty of young talent coming up this summer.. Rangers traded most of their prospects away in previous years, and Joey Gallo and Jorge Alfaro are still more than a year away.
  20. 0.5 games out now. Now let's hope Pittsburgh pounds the Yankees tomorrow in the double-dip.
  21. Thought I'd mention that due to Fielder's injury, the Rangers have 2 men on the bench tonight, Odor and JPA. Texas better hope no injuries occur.
  22. Boston struggling vs. Detroit again as Miggy Cabrera is hitting them hard again.
  23. Pretty much. Keep in mind we go R.A. Dickey eventually when d'Arnaud was traded to the Mets, and yes I know we shouldn't have dealt Syndegaard.. however, d'Arnaud has struggled badly with the Mets, and is now hurt again with a concussion. d'Arnaud has a -0.5 WAR.. almost as bad as JPA, and has been outplayed by backup Anthony Recker and possibly even AAA callup Juan Centeno. As for Noah Syndergaard, his numbers have been mixed in AAA. However, he has an above average FIP of 3.70. How that translated to MLB is uncertain.. but he'll likely be called up soon once the Super Two deadline passes, since Montero and deGrom are already up.
  24. Also, it's likely the Jays won't bring an infielder up until the Boston series, because of the off-day Monday.
