  1. Wow, Buchholz can't throw strikes. Unfortunately, Boston couldn't call an extra arm up because they need Stephen Drew to clear waivers.
  2. It's the Orioles game we're more concerned about. A Jays win and a O's loss and we're tied for 1st.
  3. Any chance the Yanks game will end before the Jays game?
  4. Red Sox lineup looks like garbage tonight without Napoli.
  5. Hope the Yanks game ends before the Jays game.. we're almost into Connected as is. And neither team wants to score.
  6. Seagulls are really hitting Wrigley Field right now.. and the YES people just referenced Exhibition Stadium, which commonly had seagull issues.
  7. A balk-off balk for by Albequerque hands the Indians a win. How weird is that?
  8. Well, they ran out of position players after Gomes PH. Now Raburn's gotta win it for the Indians..
  9. Yanks and Cubs are going to extras.. let's play more! And let's hope one of the Tigers/Indians or Yankees/Cubs games ends before the Jays game.
  10. Coke just hit Asdrubal Cabrera with a pitch.. and he's having trouble getting up.
  11. Does anyone want to win the Tigers/Indians game? Bottom of 12 and still tied at 9.
  12. Jeff Keppinger has been released by the White Sox.
  13. Nick Cafardo ‏@nickcafardo Stephen Drew has passed physical. Has consented to be optioned to minors for 25 AB. Must pass through optional waivers which takes 48 hrs Zero chance he clears optional waivers. Someone like the Yankees will likely claim him, forcing Boston to keep him on the roster.
  14. Jennings, Myers and Longoria have not played like studs this year, Escobar is in serious decline, and Molina can't hit. And Zobrist is on the DL.
  15. Buchholz has been awful this year (with decreased velocity), Lester has been good and bad. Can't you say anything positive about the Jays?
  16. Longoria's been far from a Gold Glover this year, as his dWAR is at 0.0, and seems to be losing steps at 3B. Escobar's got a -0.7 dWAR BTW. And the Rays won't make it through the summer.. their bullpen is already heavily taxed, throwing the most innings in baseball per game, allowing the 4th most runs (Jays are worst, but that may change with McGowan and Janssen back)
  17. And Zobrist is hurt, neither Hanigan or Molina are really hitting, Loney's gone at the deadline when the Rays start a fire sale (his contract is backloaded). Neither Jennings or Myers are hitting for average.
  18. When Longoria is hitting for limited power and the team needs several players to compared to Bautista and EE in the amount of HRs hit, you can tell the team is in trouble. And Ben Zobrist is on the DL, exposing Forsythe and S-Rod to extra playing time. And even when they get Cobb back, it likely will not help.
  19. Regarding Tampa, I don't see the team rebounding. The Rays have a lot of problems, not just injuries. Longoria is slumping this year, hitting for much less power than previous years. Desmond Jennings isn't hitting for average, Myers is having a sophomore slump, the Forsythe trade was a bust, and not trading David Price is going to cripple the franchise. However, some of his peripherals have improved.. unfortuantely, he doesn't have the talent around him to help.
  20. Yankees lose. Jays now tied with the Yankees in the standings, and first place is within distance, depending on what Baltimore does.
  21. 11,369 at Tampa tonight. Surprised we didn't see a 4 digit number tonight there, especially with the A's playing. Yankees bullpen is melting down vs. the Cubs right now..
  22. Good thing Detroit still has Porcello, Scherzer and Anibal Sanchez, along with Drew Smyly.
  23. Meanwhile, Tampa continues to plummet in the standings as they are losing to the A's in the 9th. A's lost Crisp, however.
  24. With the win, we will leapfrog the Yankees and move into the wild card spot, and could even take the lead in the wild card, pending the result of the Astros/Angels game. (BTW, the Astros are actually closing in on Boston in the standings.. it's been an awful year for the Red Sox.)
  25. And Hammel is ACTUALLY beating Tanaka right now, as the Cubs lead 4-1.
