  1. Enough with all the ground balls! Jays need some hits.. and we need to cash in those BBs. 4 BBs and no offense..
  2. C'mon, where's the offense? On the plus side, Odorizzi has already thrown 24 pitches. Gotta get him out after 5 or 6.. the Rays pen is a bit vulnerable after throwing so many innings in the 1st half.
  3. Remember, he just came off the DL.
  4. Wow, some patience by Reyes!
  5. Well, that was quick. Only 9 pitches to get the Rays out.
  6. Two reasons--Pan Am Games, and it's the frigging Rays!
  7. So much for OBP there for Jaso.. 3 pitch strikeout!
  8. Why is Grady Sizemore still playing? And BTW, his defensive numbers in RF are as bad as Collabello's.
  9. At least he's starting Smoak at 1B! At least we don't have Grady ****ing Sizemore playing RF and batting 2nd.. just hit everything to right! Sizemore makes Collabello look good defensively..
  10. Only if someone overpays. He's not a free agent until next year.
  11. No team in the AL East is projected (in fact no one in the AL period) is projected to get 90 wins. At this point, nobody know who'll win the East. Even the Yankees aren't guaranteed, depending on Tex and A-Rod avoiding injury or regression.
  12. Red Sox pitching prospect Michael Kopech out 50 games for using Oxilofrine(stimulant).
  13. No surprise. I expect him back in the majors by early-to-mid August or as a September callup if he hits in Buffalo.
  14. Most likely. He and Ausmus are likely to be fired at season's end if the Tigers miss the playoffs.. and that franchise is heading for some seriously lean years ahead, with heavy losing seasons ahead and no payroll flexibility for a very long time. Thanks for Devon Travis, though! That trade was awful for the Tigers... especially as Kinsler is in serious decline. As for Kenny Williams.. it's uncertain where the White Sox are headed with him after this disaster of a season.
  15. Yes, and that organization is lucky Mike Trout emerged, or they'd be in trouble.
  16. No kidding. If you thought AA's deals for Johnson and Dickey were bad, AJ Preller is even worse! He gave up a ton of talent for the Uptons (those pieces have helped Atlanta avoid embarrassing themselves, and have set them up well for the new stadium), Wil Myers (Nats are loving the trade for Joe Ross and 2016 SS Trea Turner, as Desmond is expected to depart via free agency. Tampa won and lost on the trade, however.. Souza has been their best piece in it, but have gotten burned on Burch Smith (TJS) and Rene Rivera(can't hit).) The Craig Kimbrel trade was also bad, as Maybin has finally blossomed in Atlanta, and Wisler has promise. The Norris trade was awful, as Jeese Hahn has been good for the A's. Basically, AJ Preller is the worst GM in baseball.. near RAJ bad.
  17. Hey, at least we're not the Orioles. One of the worst farm systems in the majors, and likely screwed for the next few years because Dan Duqette made some bad trades (Miller for Ed-Rod, anyone?) and standing to lose most of their core to free agency, with little chance of them being resigned due to cheap ownership(due to the MASN fight with the Nats) and Manny Machado's huge arb raise coming in 2016. Oh, and top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy has bust written all over him due to injuries. Or the Detroit Tigers, who have the worst farm in the majors, and will begin paying for it next year ($111.8M for 5 players, losing Price, Davis, Avila and Cespedes, and about to see JD Martinez's salary spike.. what a mess that franchise is.) There are worse GMs in the majors.. AA isn't terrible, but he isn't great due to some errors (Dickey, Gomes). Still, the team is in better shape than it would've been if we had kept all those prospects.. we'd be waiting until 2016 or later before we were even competitive. And Bautista and EE would've demanded trades by now if that had been the case..
  18. I disagree on Matt Silverman and Chris Antonetti. Silverman hasn't proven anything yet, and has still has many of Friedman's leftovers, and faces serious financial limitations (more than Oakland) Let's wait and see how his draft picks go, plus the Rays chances of even being a competitive team that isn't at risk of being blown up in a fire sale depend on a new stadium. And Chris Antonetti has done well with pitching.. but his team is still awful because they have failed to develop bats, and have had frequently horrid defensive teams. Jeff Lunhow faces a huge test this deadline.. does he blow the farm system to try to win now (don't do it!), or does he stay the course and stick to developing from within (recommended.. the Astros aren't making the postseason, especially with Springer out until mid August at best.)
  19. Well the Yankees are well in contention this year.. for now. Whether they hold it will depend on A-Rod's, Ellsbury's and Tex's health, getting anything out of 2B, hoping Tanaka and/or Pineda doesn't break down, and whether they can beat teams in their division and the West (BTW, they're the only team and Baltimore with winning records vs. the Central.) Plus, their starting pitching staff has issues after Tanaka and Pineda, with Sabathia breaking down, Nova being absolute garbage, Eovaldi being a question mark (despite a 9-2 record, he is still getting hit too hard), and Warren misplaced in the bullpen.. when he should be starting over Nova. Don't expect a busy deadline for the Yanks.. their farm is mixed, and Judge/Refsnyder/Sanchez/Severino are untouchable, so don't expect them to make any large moves. They also need a little more bullpen depth as well.. They could make the postseason.. but are also a risk to regress in the 2nd half, depending on health.
  20. And both are going to be fired at season's end, especially with the Marlins pitiful performance, and the Mets a difficult call for the playoffs.
  21. I understand what you mean. But Escobar had to be dealt. His gay slur was unacceptable, especially on a big market team. Plus, we would've been complaining about his declining defense in 2014 (he was SO bad at SS last year, worse than Reyes.. and he's still bad defensively at 3B in Washington.) And BTW, neither Ervin Santana nor Colon are fits in Toronto due to their flyball tendencies. And Peavy was already starting his decline phase by that point. Don't you remember his awful 2014? As for Yan Gomes.. the Indians would've been better off waiting before giving him an extension. His 2015 season has been a huge disappointment.. knee and neck injuries have hurt, plus Roberto Perez should be starting on an MLB team right now..he's as good, if not better defensively than Gomes, and actually has plate discipline, something Gomes seems to lack.. And Romero was terrible, and Morrow couldn't stay healthy. Aren't we forgetting that? And we were a 100 loss team with that 2012 roster in 2013 if we had stayed with that roster.. Santana and Colon would've turned down Toronto.
  22. Those are some majestic blasts by Prince Fielder! How about a 500 ft one?
  23. 2 to go for a win for Donaldson.
  24. Astros want Johnny Cueto.. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/25240652/astros-needing-a-top-starter-expected-to-target-reds-johnny-cueto Zero chance of them getting him.. Dodgers and Yankees will likely outbid Houston in every way, plus the Astros are not a sure thing for the postseason, and should be more focused on sustainability than trying to win now.. with Springer out, they should be more focused on getting controllable pitchers who will help in future years instead of trying to win this year.. the Angels are going to run away with the division, and the Astros just aren't ready yet.. more a 2016-2017 threat than this year.
  25. 7 HRs for Rizzo. Now it's #BringerOfRain's turn..
