  1. Until Collabello starts to cool down with the bat, we can't take him out of the lineup. Besides, it's Carrera that needs to go.. bring Pompey up in his place.
  2. Angels absolutely destroying the Rockies.. 10-0 in the 3rd inning, knocking Chad Bettis out early, giving up 4 HR, 8 H, 10ER...
  3. Quintana's on a roll. Too bad the Sox can't give him run support.. why do you think his W-L record sucks? If he was on a better team, he'd have more wins..
  4. Then the opposition needs to throw some righties at us.. Smoak doesn't hit left-handers.
  5. This is what SoxProspects thought of Doubront: http://www.soxprospects.com/players/doubront-felix.htm Of course, Boston didn't really care for him much.. and he's not even 28 yet!
  6. Eovaldi hasn't been much better.. took him a lot of pitches to get thru the 1st.
  7. Off of All-Star reliever Brad Boxberger.. you think MLB can replace him on the roster after this nightmare of an outing? Rays will be behind the Jays by the end of the night, providing the Jays don't screw up vs. Quintana. Rays ownership probably has their trigger finger on the fire sale button as we speak..
  8. If only we could stop facing lefties.. we have Quintana tonight and Danks tomorrow, and Duffy on Friday.
  9. Matt Moore's line today: 4.1 IP, 9H, 4ER, 2BB, 1K, ERA now up to 8.00, 2.11 WHIP. Small sample size, but Moore still looks like he needed more rehab time.. perhaps he needs some time in AAA Durham, because he doesn't look like the dominating pitcher he once was. And that's going to put more pressure on the Rays overworked bullpen.. they're worst in usage by a mile:
  10. Blanton making a spot start Saturday vs. the Blue Jays, due to today's double-header. So the rotation for the weekend series is now Duffy/Blanton/Volquez. Not a great rotation.. and very feasible for the Jays to dominate. First, let's focus on beating the White Sox..
  11. And his 1.67 WHIP, and 18/15 K/BB ratio. He's been incredibly lucky.
  12. Preston Guilmet, a guy these fans on this board are upset AA gave up, has been DFAd by the Rays. Pretty much shows how little the rest of MLB feels of him. The move was made due to Jaso coming off the 60-day. Oh, and another reason the Rays should sell.. Souza has gone on the DL with a pinkie-finger laceration.
  13. We're still only 2-2.5 back. Give it a few more weeks.
  14. Them too. I just don't understand what they're doing.. and why didn't they trade for Navarro? They desperately needed a catcher.. but he did get rid of that awful Trumbo deal, and Arroyo's contract.. but giving up a decent prospect hurts.
  15. He needed more development time anyway. He should never have made the Opening Day roster.. more because the Jays couldn't find a decent OF option (remember we tried Viciedo in spring training?)
  16. Not by a mile do we have the worst management. There are worse management teams I can name.. AJ Preller in San Diego, RAJ in Philly, Jack Z in Seattle, whoever is on the Rockies, and of course the Marlins. And Kenny Williams in Chicago deserves some votes..
  17. What happened to Iwakuma? 3 HRs given up tonight (on 2 sliders and a splitter). Didn't he used to be an elite pitcher?
  18. Because he didn't hit.. but at this point, it's time to bring him back. We can't afford to be pissing ABs away on Carrera, or playing Valencia at LF so much..
  19. No ground lost on the O's. Twins walk off on them with a Dozier HR. Still only 1 game back of them. So it's 2.5 (Yankees) and 2 (Twins). Gotta win the rest of the series against the weaker part of the rotation.. and Shark(depending on which version we get of him.)
  20. DFA this bum (Carrera)! Don't we have ANY OFs that have at least some baseball IQ?
  21. Actually, that's a rational thought.. he is still the best hitter on the White Sox (and that's not saying much.. that team outside of Sale and Abreu is awful.) But if only Reyes had not made that error.. Actually, we would've still faced Eaton/Abreu/Cabrera in the next inning. And considering how they hit Buehrle late, they still likely walk off on us, as Buehrle ran out of gas by that point.
  22. Reyes doesn't deserve defense by anyone if he's not going to play decent defense.. or hit consistently. Next time the Jays have a lead, put Goins in late in games!
  23. And will likely get dealt to a big market team when he gets expensive.. this is Jeffrey Loria we're talking about. And FYI, Loria is wasting his and Stanton's prime.. they frigging sent Marcell Ozuna to AAA yesterday! WTF is he doing? Not to mention how poorly run that Marlins team is.. they traded Eovaldi and DeSclafani, who would be great in the Marlins rotation right now... And no comments about their 1997 and 2003 WS.. the teams have been blown up afterward because ownership, including Loria, have refused to spend money to keep a roster together.. remember the Miguel Cabrera trade? That makes the Dickey trade look genius in comparison.. Tigers basically robbed the Marlins there.
  24. That was a good deal.. Vernon Wells was an absolute albatross for the Jays. Not sure whether we should've kept Napoli or not though.. maybe if they had moved him to 1B sooner, it might have worked. But at that point, he was still a C, and we needed a closer, which ended up being a bad deal in Frank Francisco... Napoli had a good year in 2011 with the Rangers, then regressed badly (with a slight rebound in 2013). But right now, Napoli is basically as worthless as Vernon Wells was at that point in his career..
