  1. Tigers bullpen makes me want to gag... and you wonder why this team is struggling to contend (after all, they have a similar record to the Jays.. but worse SP and bullpen.) And the offense has made Tillman look like an ace...
  2. Hendriks is being basically used as a long-man right now and has a 7.36 ERA in his recent appearances, Tepera has actually been quite good this season when used, except for today.
  3. No loss in the standings, as the Yankees lost to the Mariners.
  4. 451 ft. for Bautista's blast.
  5. And what Bautista just did shows why-- 2-1 Jays! And that was a HUGE blast.
  6. Typical Kevin Cash.. this is why the Rays will not be contending. You can't keep going to the pen in the 5th.. it'll be blown out by August.
  7. Geez, Cash, must you always go to the pen in the 3rd go-around in the order? The starters are never going to learn how to pitch if you keep babying them.. and it's an opportunity for the Jays to blow this game open.
  8. You can relax. It was quickly upheld. Rays just blew their challenge there..
  9. What a lack of baseball IQ by Beckham.. just cost his team a run. And there's a review..
  10. It's so that certain starters can be positioned for certain matchups (such as Hutchison getting as few road games as possible.), and so the Jays can decide what to do with the 5th starter role, if they acquire someone or put Sanchez back there.
  11. Have you even watched a Tigers game this season? Team's barely a .500 team because their bullpen is garbage, and the rotation is weak after David Price. I mean, Simon, Greene, and even Anibal Sanchez stink, and Verlander is a shell of what he once was.
  12. The Expos were hurt by bad, cheap ownership and a terrible TV deal.
  13. Go away. No Miguel Cabrera, and a terrible pitching staff, plus the Royals/Twins in their division? They're not making it.
  14. One thing to also consider--the Yanks have to play the Twins next weekend and in August, a team we are chasing. We can pick up ground on either of those teams, depending who wins. Right now, only Detroit, LA/HOU and Minnesota are ahead of us in the wild card. And of course, we're tied for 2nd behind the Yankees.
  15. Most of those fans want us to blow the farm on rentals like Cueto, Hamels, etc.. it doesn't work that way. Ownership is trying to build a sustainable contender and avoid wrecking the team's future.. don't want to end up like Detroit or Philly. And that 4.5 game deficit(4.0 in the wild card) can be wiped out quickly when the Jays play the Yankees, Twins and Angels in the next month. Of course, we could've gained ground last night if the Red Sox had been able to muster a run.. and not let Mike Trout walk off on them.
  16. Not even a factor. Rogers usually hedges before the season on currency fluctuations. But the NHL stands to take a hit.. most of their revenue is from Canada. Until oil prices (and other resources) rebound, our dollar is likely to stay at this level for a while. It's not just our dollar... Aussie and Kiwi(New Zealand) dollars are way down too. Plus, until we see increased de-dollarization of the US dollar(which is being aimed for by Russia and China), the US dollar is likely to stay high. It's not just our dollar.. every currency is down almost the same amount as us against the US dollar. And it's no excuse.. the currency was this low when the Jays won the World Series in 1992 and 1993.
  17. Still can catch the Astros/Angels and Twins.. despite their strong performance, the Twins are not going to keep this up. Their pitching isn't strong enough to stay in contention.
  18. Dome's open IIRC. Odorizzi just is garbage right now after that oblique injury..
  19. Smoak'd! Big night for him. 6-1 Jays.
  20. Nice sno-cone, Travis.
  21. God, Buck and Pat, I know Archer, Gray and King Felix are tough.. but for Gray and Felix, their teams have other problems.. defense (A's) and offense (Mariners).
  22. Tie game! Smart play by Collabello.
  23. The Rays pen will decide that.. Royals bullpen it isn't.
  24. Smoak'd for 2 bases!
  25. BTW, Mike Montgomery is carving up the Yankees right now.. but his Mariners have only managed 1 run off of Tanaka.
