    Hopefully a trip to KC will help.. yes they're a 1st place team, but their rotation is garbage. Only their D and the bullpen is helping.. this Royals team has only been able to dominate Tampa. They have poor records vs. the Yankees and Red Sox... and they'll likely have trouble with the Jays.

    Another overrating of the Royals pitching staff... it's because of the bullpen! Royals starters are just ahead of Detroit, Toronto and Boston in ERA (23rd overall). Heck, Yordy Ventura struggled vs. the Rays today.. yet he's in line for a win because Rays pitching continues to make it impossible for the offense to get back in the game..

    Dickey's got the good knuckleball today. Unfortunately, neither team brought their bats.. both Shark and Dickey are dominating.

    Royals wasting no time laying waste to the Rays.. up 3-0. BTW, if you think Collabello and Valencia are bad in LF.. Rays have catcher John Jaso playing LF today (and a washed up Sizemore playing RF)

    Alexei isn't in the lineup, and Melky's numbers are from before Dickey went to the Blue Jays. Only Abreu's can be taken with a grain of salt.

    No idea what we're going to get out of the Shark. Just be aggressive though.. Samardzija doesn't really walk anybody. But his splits are uninspiring.. plus he gets hit hard in the early innings frequently. Got to get a few runs today, especially depending which Dickey we get today.

    Edwin needs a day off, and Navarro's our best DH option without EE in the lineup. Plus, it's to try to boost Dioner's value at the trade deadline, I guess.

    Got to get this win, especially if the Yanks lose.. we have a shot at first place this weekend, as the Yanks stand to get clobbered by the red hot Red Sox this weekend, as their probables for the weekend series are absolute garbage (Pineda, Nova, Eovaldi) vs. a surging Sox lineup that has been red-hot since June, when they started putting Betts/Holt/Bogaerts in 1 thru 3. And the O's get the Nats, and the Rays are DOA basically, especially with Houston coming in to finish off the Rays contention hopes. As for us, the Royals probables aren't great at all, with Duffy (4.40 FIP), Young(4.05 FIP, and overdue for regression), and anyone's guess what Volquez does. In addition, the Royals lineup no longer has Alex Gordon (out 8 weeks). Probables for the Jays are Estrada, Buehrle and Doubront.

    And that could open up the chance for Minnesota to steal the division.. that's a big loss for the Royals to absorb, especially considering he's one of their best players offensively.
