  1. Kazmir might still be available.
  2. Jays might have a chance to get Matt West back. Dodgers have DFAd him in order to make room for Brandon Beachy. But really, what is it with him that Jays fans like about him? He's no more than minor league filler who has yet to conquer AAA, and has been mostly an emergency arm in the minors.
  3. Including their own failed starter who's in the bullpen, Luke Hochevar (he was a starting prospect at one time, and was awful. But the move to the pen has helped.)
  4. Sox pitching prospect Brian Johnson recalled to join Ed-Rod in the Sox rotation. Expected to join the rotation post-All Star break, as it looks like Clay Buchholz's heading for a lengthy DL stint due to his "elbow tightness", of which we're waiting for MRI results.
  5. We're in a drought right now. Better figure it out soon before we're out of it. BTW, most teams are sliding in the race because the Twins, Yankees and Angels can't lose. It's not just us.
  6. Definitely not! Wasn't there a story about the bad food there during the postseason last year?
  7. Boston's comeback just may have crashed... Buchholz is leaving the game with an injury.
  8. Former Jays junk pitcher Aaron Laffey is back in the big leagues with the Rockies. Pretty much shows how little depth the Rockies have in decent pitching..
  9. Got to agree.. Bo actually had potential, Guilmet has basically bounced around the league.. and he's probably going to be heading elsewhere soon, especially with Beachy coming off the 60-day tomorrow.
  10. Yes and no. He's done a great job with building the Tigers and Marlins teams.. but the Tigers farm system is worst in the game right now, and is going to eventually drag the Tigers down as free agency and age hits the team.
  11. Rockies ownership won't trade Tulo, so don't expect them to move Gonzalez either. Plus, we can't take his $37M remaining without the Rox eating tons of money.
  12. Dodgers add Preston Guilmet off waivers from the Rays to fill more of their minors roster due to almost frequent injuries and likely upcoming trades for pitching which will drain their depth outside of Urias and Seager. Shows that Tampa doesn't care for Guilmet either. 3rd ballclub this year.. and it's likely only temporary, as they have to make a roster move for Zach Lee, who is projected to start this weekend. BTW, Matt West has been horrible in AAA, the exact reason why he hasn't been anymore than an emergency arm with the Dodgers: 1-1, 7.50 ERA, 12/4 K/BB ratio, 1.44 WHIP. If fans thought he'd be great for the Jays earlier in the year.. these AAA numbers are proof why he isn't getting a chance, and will likely be DFAd or used as a throw-in piece when the Dodgers make additions at the deadline or purchase contracts, as they are expected to do (even though they're 5.5 up, don't count out the Giants and D-Backs.)
  13. Aren't we forgetting about Tampa's implosion? More likely they finish last than the Jays.
  14. Nice stadium KC has. Many cities wish they had this (yes, even Toronto).
  15. While we complain about the Jays performance.. Houston has gone on a slump itself, losing 4 of 5, and losing right now. A loss tonight and an Angels win and the Astros will only be 0.5 games up on the Angels. Could regression be coming to the Astros, especially with innings becoming an issue with McCullers and Velasquez, and a lack of decent rotation depth after Keuchel and McHugh? And of course, there's the offense. They need Springer back ASAP.
  16. Chicago's going to be selling no matter what. They can't catch the Royals (11 GB), and the Twins/Angels are 6 games up on the White Sox. And the only seller getting back in the race is the Red Sox.. incompetence by us, the Rangers, Orioles and Rays have allowed the Twins and Angels, along with the Yankees and Royals to build up bigger leads in their races and wild card. And our drop pales in comparison to the mess in Tampa.. since their peak at 40-30, the Rays have gone an unbelievably bad 3-15. Now that is ugly. (we're 10-14 since the 11-game streak ended)
  17. Looking at the standings.. Yanks are pulling away. Everyone else is .500 (Jays, Orioles), or below (Rays, Red Sox). No help in the wild card either due to L.A. and Minnesota's surge. Let's pray the Tigers and Mariners win tonight.
  18. Well, you're in luck. We face nothing but mediocre pitching in the Royals series. No Sharks or Sales in that Royals rotation. And Chris Young is basically pitching with smoke and mirrors.. and no idea on Volquez. And Duffy's been awful.
  19. 6-6(soon to be 7-6) vs. the AL East. (and the majority of the wins are Tampa). And they're basically a .500 team against contenders.. basically, they feast on bad teams. Don't forget Alex Gordon is out too. That Royals team is a Shark away from even thinking of a World Series again.. Houston, New York, Minny or L.A.(and any other contender) will slaughter them in the postseason unless KC adds an ace starter, possibly 2.
  20. That could be any team..not just the Jays.
  21. Not with that awful rotation... Duffy, Young and Volquez aren't exactly Price, Sale, Shark, etc..
  22. Back to .500.. now we need to bounce back vs. Kansas City. As for Shark, his price just went up after this huge performance..
