  1. AA still wants Sanchez to start, but he also wants the club to win and Sanchez in the pen would help, although Sanchez starting would help much more. People see Sanchez as a reliever for the same reason they see Machado as a 3rd basemen, Good thing Stroman blew it in the pen.
  2. Good thing AA didn't do that with Bautista or Edwin.
  3. Navarro will bring in a bad reliever or a non prospect. Should still trade him since he asked, but the return will be almost nothing.
  4. Agreed, The Jays rotation is quite mediocre. It is made up of number 3 starters, Stroman may be a 2. Don't think the Jays should spend for starter though.
  5. Travis is the only non dumpster fire option in the org at the moment.
  6. Unless his injury was caused by being rushed I don't see how bringing him up was a problem, More AAA innings wouldn't fix what's wrong with Drabek. Best to see what you got, Especially in the case of Sanchez since if they find he can't start he will be immediately useful in the pen.
  7. Also Sanchez and Norris are talented players, this isn't like trying to squeeze Nolin into the rotation.
  8. I didn't say ready for spring training, but they will be ready this year. Neither need an entire season in AAA. Stroman pitched 35 innings in AAA.
  9. Even in that scenario Jays won't have any extra Rotation spots for another starter since they will both be ready this year. I hope Happ is gone by spring training, They can use Estrada until Sanchez is stretched out then put Estrada in the Pen. If Sanchez blows it he moves to closer and Norris replaces him in the rotation.
  10. Jays need rotation spots for Norris and Sanchez so unless they trade one of Buerhle or dickey another pricey starter will just handcuff the team.
  11. Can't see AA bringing Sanchez up to close until at least the all star break, even then he would need to be blowing it as a starter in the minors.
  12. Happ is just a place holder for Sanchez or Norris, AA should start Sanchez in the minors until he's stretched out and bring him up into the rotation. Don't know how Norris gets in the rotation unless Dickey or Buerhle are traded or somebody gets injured.
  13. If it was just a salary dump he would have got a prospect or at least a player still making league minimum, Lind was likely traded because he isn't a "gamer" and other character related reasons.
  14. Giving up walks helps him get K's as long as he doesn't give up so many that doesn't pitch as many innings. That's why k/9 is kind of a poop stat.
  15. Those two statements don't contradict each other. You don't need an ace to make the playoffs, An ace helps you succeed in the playoffs. The Orioles and Giants are good examples.
  16. Only to the religious.
  17. If I want to win games, I don't give Goins any AB's.
  18. Agreed, Pompey isn't a sucker like Gose and Pillar are. He has a good enough floor to learn on the job.
  19. I assume this means he will give out low ball offers before other teams give out their competitive offers.
  20. Gose can handle centre if they get something good in left.
  21. 141 WRc+ hitters don't grow on trees, Platoon or not.
  22. They could with the increased defense, But the lineup loses a .300 hitter they can't really replace.
  23. He needs to replace the offense lost or this will be a problem. Losing Melky and Lind without adding a good bat would be terrible.
  24. Gose could do that because of the steals, Goins though? I highly doubt it.
  25. He hit .320, so runner on second he was literally the best option. Those walks are why he hit .320, can't hit bad pitches and expect good results.
