  1. Well I'm not really arguing anything with you, We may only differ by a small degree on how much stock we put into the sample size. I am comfortable thinking the drastic difference in K% is legit with this sample size.
  2. I really hope AA doesn't get any of the aces available, Too much of a sellers market.
  3. I get that, That's why I'm saying it's a small ample and no sure thing, But gun to the head I would guess he hits lefties better than righties.
  4. As opposed to prediction by first hand accounts? Its almost 500 PA, Hard to luck your way though almost a full season worth of PA.
  5. Well to be fair to Wilner he did agree with that. Wilner isn't the worst, But he won't admit when he's wrong.
  6. Because his major league sample size is fairly small, But based on that sample you would expect him to hit lefties better than righties. If he regresses to a .340wOBA he would still be useful against lefties.
  7. Wilner is right. Understanding regression doesn't mean that past performance shouldn't be taken into account. He's no sure bet to mash lefties, But arguing that because of regression he can't is much more stupid.
  8. They could, but that is an elaborate trade for bit pieces, What team needs a closer, lefty specialist, and a centerfielder.
  9. None of them get you a top 50 prospect.
  10. If the Jays are sellers they may as well go all in. Wouldn't get very good prospects for any of those players, Janssen may get you something of value.
  11. Teams that are selling don't want those players.
  12. Not really. Other than relievers or bench players. With no money, getting good players without giving up top prospects is impossible. Pillar is a tick above waiver wire fodder.
  13. Also a supposed world series contender, Nobody predicted that the team would be bad.
  14. Everybody wants AA to keep the prospects, But talk s*** for him not making trades.
  15. It was likely a perfect storm of sorts, Add in the supposed weakness in the al east. Only thing worse than being wrong, is being right too early.
  16. He made the trade, But if he wasn't forced to trade Escobar, He wouldn't have been looking for a shortstop. Young good pitchers don't get traded. He did decide he needed to make those moves, I'm just saying ownership pushed him towards those conclusions. The fact that he hasn't mortgaged the future yet shows he is not a fan of inefficient short term deals. R.A. was him going for it in the traditional sense. He may have been backed into the R.A. trade, But he may have thought the knuckleballer would have been an ace at 60% of the cost.
  17. AA was forced to trade escobar, which likely lead the way for the big trade. AA was told he couldn't take on any extra dollars after the trade and was force to trade the Jays best prospects for the only good pitcher that could be obtained with salary remaining neutral.
  18. AA has no money, so he would be forced to spend talent to make improvements. He knows that's not a good idea long term, so he is forced to stand pat. Have to figure that money isn't available because Rogers missed estimates last quarter.
  19. This move makes almost no sense. AA must think big league coaches will help him and he is the only pitcher the Jays have to call on that could actually succeed.
  20. It's not realistic to think of a specific return on any player. You get the best player being offered in each individual deal, Whomever that may be.
  21. AA must not think he will be able to bring in any pitchers. I'm starting to think AA won't make any significant acquisitions. No money, and few trade pieces.
  22. Then sign as many fringe pitchers on 1 or two year deals as possible and flip them at the break.
  23. Trade away the entire roster, except for those that haven't reached arb.
  24. Oh dear god! What must be done to appease the baseball gods
  25. That's not true at all.
