  1. It's funny, I was thinking the same thing. As bad and corny as they are, almost unbelievable that a marketing agency was paid a ton of money to come up with them, it has hundreds of people talking about them on a baseball forum. So, maybe they are that cheesy on purpose, to get people talking about it? Btw - I used to prefer WJ but now I try to fly only Air Transat. Better food, a lot of nice new planes, better entertainment systems. AC, my past few flights I've had really old planes. I wish AT flew to more destinations, but for Europe/sun destinations I will only use them now.
  2. That's the thing with the red sox. They have their heads so far up their asses they fail to see it was only the 7th. 5 runs is nothing in a lead to a world series champion. Whatever was said to Escobar really pissed him off and obviously Escobar over reacted but he's playing his game. What started it was those whiny little red sox bitches yapping from the bench. Shut your mouths and just play ball, it's not like it was a 8+ run lead where the 'unwritten' rule goes in play. I just lost a lot of respect for that team.
  3. He better be able to cover the entire outfield because he sure as hell can't hit
  4. Were the Jays going to sign Darvish before they traded for Dickey? Did that trade happen after Darvish signed? wow, what could have been ...
  5. ok, so I guess Happ's been unlucky too. I was also unlucky in that I sucked so much I never made it to the majors otherwise I would have.
  6. I wouldn't call it all bad luck. He has 3 pitches really, and he's getting killed today. No one is writing him off just yet, but this outing sucked donkey balls.
  7. I think AA and Co. are still in denial this team needs to be rebuilt. Sure we have some good pieces, but we're at the payroll max and considering what we're getting in terms of results on the field. I think it's safe to say this is not a competitive team that is going to compete this year. Now, you can always balance trading off smaller pieces while maintaining your core, but this core is getting old and there are a lot of overpaid players on this team. I'm not sure what strategy AA will take at the deadline. EE/JB obviously have high trade value, and Melky does too considering his hot start, he's young, and some teams might want the inside track on resigning him. But, there's very little value outside of those guys, and I'm not sure if this team is going to trade the face of the franchise just yet even though it's not working.
  8. JFAs projections are about as useful as tits on a bull. He actually said the Jays should finish above the yanks. I'm convinced he works in PR for the Jays.
  9. Gose sucks though, I rather keep Francisco who can actually somewhat hit mlb pitching.
  10. That's true. Even in some years where the Yanks or Dodgers were the favorites, other teams did better and got further in the playoff rounds. I think that goes for every sport really, but Toronto needs too many pieces for this year to win. They don't have a legitimate #1, and they probably need a #2 also. On top of the 2b problem. I mean, look at every team, 75% probably are 3 good players away from being a good contending team, that's going to be the case every year. But budget constraints, lack of depth in the minors, injuries, there will always be an excuse why teams can't take it to the next level.
  11. Looks like all the chubby guys are going for hits today.
  12. Can you please tell everyone that the Jays staff projects to have 4/5 starters with ERAs under 4. People are over reacting here when the projections are going to balance out by the end of the year and the Jays will finish ahead of the Yankees. Or have the projections changed yet?
  13. Ya, I wouldn't either at this point. The Jays are way too thin in the prospect department and they realistically need 2 top of the rotation starters and a 2b. But a lot of teams are 2-3 players away from being a contending team.
  14. This team needs a real #1 ace. It doesn't need a #5. The whole rotation has to be moved down a slot to accommodate a true dominant pitcher. I mean, he's delusional to think that this team needs a #5 and that's why the Jays will suck this year lol. Hell this team could use 2 top of the rotation starters, Dickey is done but AA is in denial about that.
  15. Just don't get fooled again with another winning streak.
  16. so was this a sarcastic post in regards to his slow start? Hopefully he picks it up, he needs to show he can start hitting.
  17. Goins with that power swing, think the ball went 1.5 inches
  18. Ah yes, that is true. It's kind of sad that we've come up with some really odd excuses on his pitching performance. From indoors, to the distance from the ocean, to the weather. I mean, if he was this constrained on how he could pitch, wtf did AA even trade for him? lol
  19. Dickey only pitches well, if he's at 38.4 longetitude and the weather is 21.8 degrees or warmer, and it's a Sunday, not any sunday. But the 2nd sunday of every odd month.
  20. ya, mlbtr has been slow/down for me the whole day. Btw OOTP 15 came out, if anyone plays it and has some reviews, I'd like to read it before buying.
