    Vladdy needs to lose 15-20lbs. He may have been able to carry that extra weight in AAA but he's not fast enough for MLB at that weight.

    I don't know if Vladdy wasn't trying there, but he did not get to first fast at all. That was Tellez speed to 1B on the dp.

    A lot of teams want to make sure to lock in those career <300 obp guys. They are hard to come by.

    But think of how little the BP makes compared to other teams. It provides good value.

    I don't know why you guys are shocked with the outcome here. The Rays treat their players like commodities and know when to trade them for multiple high end pieces in return. The Jays do not.

    I thought if we were playing all these young guys that we would get some breakout candidates but so far everyone sucks. I also thought accumulating everyone's 30th best prospect in trades was going to work.

    At least 2 of those will finish with more wins. The real problem is the hitting, even though other teams are experiencing it too. How many cleanup hitters have a career obp under .300?

    I don't know what catcher is going to be able to block that breaking ball. If he can't find the zone I don't think his fastball sitting at 92/93 is going to fool anyone.

    What if Vlad is really bad defensively and his total war is less than what people think it will be? There's a good chance Jiminez might be a more productive overall player if you balance hitting and d. I'm not saying don't lock him up, but maybe the Jays want to see where he fits in position wise defensively.

    Does not take into account the value a Trout brings you in the increase of value of your franchise, plus when he gets into the HOF, and so many other intangibles, increase in TV contract etc..

    Definitely would take Trout on this deal over Harper on his, seems like a decent deal for the Angels.

    Just don't understand how the Yanks get a steal of a deal on Hicks. He could have easily gotten more AAV on the open market. Yanks win again. He put up over 8 war over the last 2 years alone.

    Definitely not, I think he actually ends up being a 1B or DH. He does have a great bat though.

    Can't tell if it's 4/50 or 4/55 including the 5m buyout on the 5th year. Either way, that's a solid deal. He should put up about 3war if he plays the whole season, way better value and much less risk than paying for a Harper. That's a smart signing, wish the blue jays were in on that and traded pillar.
