  1. I love Davis Schneider. He is such a throwback. ISO over .200 and just grinds and grinds.
  2. Thats because you are Team Debbie Upper and a man of the people.
  3. I get that but comparing apples to apples fWAR over 2 seasons.
  4. Kind of gone under the radar Berrios season. In 2023 he was worth 3 fWAR. So far this season he is worth 0.3 WAR and has a 4.74 xERA.
  5. Honest question. Says you joined Board Sept 2023. What do you mean cynical people posting EVERY year? As for me I started to lose faith a bit on team and front office when we blew the 2021 shot. 2022 ending was rough but 1st wildcard. But 2023 ending and then this off season was my breaking point. All the while underpinned by s***** drafting and development. I can’t remember a time in over 40 years as a fan of this team as I have been this disappointed in the FO. Maybe JPR. Actually I loathed him. But honestly he never had this payroll, and a low bar 3rd wildcard luxury.
  6. Walker is like a pickled egg in a gross jar just sitting on the bar. Will last forever.
  7. Agree. Easier to get corner OF heavy bats.
  8. If we had traded Moreno for J-Ram then extended him, much like they did with Berrios - is our world today much different today with a .250 ISO switch hitting IF?
  9. 4.65 FIP and 4.50 xERA He has been getting hit hard for awhile. He is down over 2 Ks per 9 this season, but he is getting more GBs. Nice knock by IKF.
  10. Scneider post game “Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile, so we gave Georgie a shot”.

Was at the game tonight. Electric atmosphere and a shocking Game 7 is on like donkey kong!
  12. Its both panic mode & strategic seeing what they have, as ownership want to make some major moves for a re-tool at this deadline/off season with the likes of Kooch and Jano leaving, and the Bo/Vlad window shrinking. And so far, they have been better overall that the vets they replaced AKA its working. They have fired the D first run prevention mantra largely out the window. Vlad and Barger at 3B. Horwitz at 2B. Schneider in OF etc etc etc Man the 3rd WC more often than not is fools gold. Its changed the game for fans and FOs. Smart move by MLB. Many fans point to AZ and not the HOU, LAD track record big Wins teams of the league. "See!!!!! Just get in!!!"
  13. Lack of extra base power is killing us. Especially dingers. So hard to string so many hits together.
  14. Amen to all that. No free pass for the puppeteer. This org lacks accountability.
  15. Don't disagree. Who was it again who has gone through Gibby & Montoyo and then hired Schneider and gave him a 3 year deal?
  16. The fact that we are debating having a LHH unproven rookie bat hit vs a LHP in a key game spot over the $150M man, only half way through his year 4 of 6 tells you tells all you need to know about the state of this team. The cake is baked for this season. It will be what it will be and I don't care much. I think last off season was a total miss and mess strategically and in terms of ROI, but whatever. I'm only thinking about deadlines this year and next now, as well as this off season. I'm on to thinking about the next phase of our franchise. New leadership is needed to make these massive decisions. People can say they won't do much at the '24 deadline all they want, but at each big decision point missed, the value of our assets is likely to diminish going forward. Ownership is now having these discussions.
  17. 2 for 12 with RISP. Left bases drunk in 1st without scoring and scored only 3 runs. We can quibble about a PH appearance choices, but the team’s problems are consistent and run much deeper.
  18. As much as I am on my own personal crusade to see Ross gone for this next most important phase for our club, I reluctantly agree 100% with you and thank your post lol.
  19. Crazy that our nobody players seem to be our best players now. Well done old man JT and the young guns.
  20. Baby face Orelvis. Welcome to the bigs young man.
  21. That’s fair. So many variables. Best you can do is make a lot of assumptions in any model like that. Then it’s a case of garbage in garbage out information.
  22. The entire ecosystem of fandom and sports media, and the existence of this Board, is based on "reports" and speculation. Fans don't know in 99.9% of FA signings and trade discussions all the details and discussions. We really just know the outcomes. How many times in a trade of Moreno have fans speculated on why Kirk was not moved instead? Very few ever will really know any trade or FA signing behind closed door discussions or how a player like Kirk or O'Neil was valued by various teams and our FO. Hindsight is always 20/20 on trades and FA signings and for time immemorial fans will always pass judgement on them both. And thats ok because all FOs are paid to be right, more often than not. Thats literally their job, along with making money for their ownership. I don't understand the argument that player X FA speculation is not logical but the O'Neil trade speculation is as logical as Dr. Spock. Variables exist and info is lacking in both. I know what the incremental WAR delta of JT/Vogelbach DH tandem and their AAV vs other potential options - but out of morbid curiosity what impact would for example would inserting a .230 ISO bat or even two have on our runs scored in a nerd model?
  23. The only reason a bunch of fans view .500 on June 17th as some sort of bellwether milestone shows how much the 3rd wildcard has changed the game for fans and front offices. Not a bad thing in and of itself, but it can lead to some awful FO decision making if not clear eyed about the teams quality and window. See LAA deadline 2023 >>>>
  24. Varsho and IKF team MVPs so far. Throw Yimi on that pile.
  25. Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman believes Toronto doesn't have a very good chance of winning games unless its pitching is strong. "As much as you try to block it out, it's really hard to. The reality is, yeah, if we don't pitch well, we probably lose," Gausman said postgame following a 3-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Friday, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. "We've got to be really good. That's not to say we have a lack of effort, but right now, offensively, we're struggling. Defensively, as pitchers, we need to be better. We almost have to be perfect. "It's tough. It adds some pressure, but we're in the big leagues, and you have pressure every single day. Every game is pressure. It doesn't add any more to it, but that's just the reality of the situation we're in." Gausman surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. Hound and Gausman beginning to take some veiled public shots at the Offence situation. Our record when we score 3 or more is great.
