    Had a nitemare last night with Navvy back and Colon pitching to him as his personal catcher. They would be the poster child tandem for overweight ballplayers.

    Doesn't using Osuna in the minors for the 1st half completely derail the argument he is worth more to us as a SP than out of the pen, given we get more innings from him?

    He was a pretty amazing find this year but he had a .411 BABIP and wOBA of .380. We cant bank on a repeat of close to that so he probably settles in against LHP.

    lol....your comment is ironic given Kingkat's on your post. Yup...it doesn't...and I was just venting about that play. I just listened to Gibby. I feel no need to "s*** on" Gibbons just now. He can make some bone headed calls, but we could do worse. Goin's outlook is whats its always been...solid back up MIF. There is no real debate about that despite AA's comments.

    He had one good offensive game in the playoffs out of 11. Gibbons said that on his failed sac bunt attempt in the KC series Gm 6 he told Goins to take that 1st pitch, as he was following back to back BBs. Sac bunting is dumb, but if you are going to have anyone do it...its Goins. I didn't like the take, but was glad Goins didn't do it on his own. When you hit like Goins, you have to be able to get one down. He isn't a great bunter and it wasn't smart to put him in an 0-1 hole.

    Fair comments. That was with Lind and Lawrie in 2013 I think. I don't think Lawrie is selfish and bad for chemistry. I just think he sucks at pitch recognition as a hitter and he has too much movement in his swing loading. You mentioned Jose and Edwin "taking their walks". You know very few guys can do what Edwin and Jose do at the plate combining power, contact and pitch recognition skills.

    Revere and Pillar don't take BBs much. Are they selfish players bad for chemistry or is that a pitch selection and approach issue?

    I try hard not to judge players for being standoffish. Those small snippets don't really tell you much about what they are like most times. Fans are on them like fat kids on smarties 24/7. Its got to wear on you even though without fans they don't make the $ they do. I just appreciate it when they go out of their way to do something nice for kids etc to give them a memory. Like this year when Edwin had the whole team sign an artificial leg (which had a Jays logo on it) for a little kid from AB who flew to see them in TOR. To me, that says something about E-Rex.

    Guy will win exec of the year likely and after the deadline all we heard from GMs around baseball and ex GMs etc was that it was one of the best deadlines they had ever seen period. His stock has risen without a doubt. If he isn't back and we do well next year people will forget about him. If he isn't back and we don't do well Shapiro will pay for that big time as the sheep looking for reasons will point to the magic of AA ignoring everything but 2015.

    Torn between not wanting to watch as it will bring up feelings of lamenting our Jays aren't in it, and my bloodlust desire to see the NYM crush the Royals. Will be some great ball.

    I think so. He knows he has had a career year. Take less per year than the QO for 3-4 year deal.
