  1. Still waiting for the elusive first Martin bomb.....guy hit 23 last year. So due.
  2. Don't think he has any shot. Career 45 WAR. Has lost most of his defensive value and is now an expensive singles/doubles hitter now. He just got worn down.
  3. I was just thinking same. Its a bigggg hook. Nice inning Sanchez.
  4. I'm not upset. Tongue in cheek man. He sat a start over the catch he made against LAD that hurt him and we had an off day last week. His bat was hot and has cooled off badly the last couple weeks. I have irrational dislike for Zeke (he has been ok but he is so bad on D)
  5. I was just joking...sort of. Pillar just had a day off last week. I just don't think we are in a position in the standings to put a 4 WAR player on the bench for a scrub.
  6. Gibby starting Zeke in CF tonight. Um. Can I change my vote on firing Gibby?
  7. Agree. Shouldn't have used it. Edited it.
  8. Sometimes I think Gibby is really dumb. Some of his moves are highly questionable and he is loyal to a fault. But I also know we do worse. I don't think it's the right move now to can him. This team isn't underchieving because of him and the players have to figure this one out talent wise.
  9. That's actually not the case. At lease Bautista had demonstrated great pitch selection and an above avg ability to get on base. That's why he started 2010 at lead off before he broke out to hit 54 HRs. Edwin had great raw power and hit 26 HRs with CINN and had an above avg wRC+ and OBP. Nobody could tell what was to come of course, but there were signs I don't see in Parades that were positive.
  10. When a runner trying to steal (and they were all waiting for that) breaks early I should f***ing hope Goins would cover and yell for the ball.
  11. ^ this. There is nothing to suggest this is the third coming of Jose and Edwin. He should be here until Travis is.
  12. Comes in as a defensive replacement in extras. Ball hit to his right. Not an easy chance but one he has to make, given he has nothing but a glove. He cant make it. We were fortunate Biagini got him at 2B. So done with this Goins.
  13. Great piece of hitting Tulo....back up the middle.
  14. I will join GD's Tribe if the Jays Win the game.
  15. At this point I'm sacrificing chickens in my living room and drinking lambs blood to get them to hit. It's not going to hurt and sometimes shaking things up leads to results that are tough to explain. KC batting Alcides LO is one that pops to mind. In this case Jose hitting LO and shaking up the order the way they have is far more defensible and logical than that. Let's hope the hocus pocus works.
  16. I'm wanting but not expecting things to drastically improve overnight but thank f***ing god we are getting what most of us wanted before the 2016 stink ass shitshow thus far started = Jose leadoff. Props to the team leaders for pushing this. It cant get worse. Lets go Jays!! 2016 starts tonight.
  17. The body language and faces of the team in the 9th said it all last nite. In the throws of a 5 gm skid and a horrendous start. Starting an inning with 2 BBS and can't get a run across tells the tale of the season so far. Too early for dismantling talk imo. Hope springs eternal...but it's getting harder.
  18. This is a really depressing conversation for May 18th and one I never expected.
  19. There goes Smoak "clogging the bases up" again. Lets tie this thing!
  20. they led MLB in runs last year with him here...this isn't his fault bud
  21. nice inning Biagini Next 3 up in our order is impressive.
  22. We need a "correction" with the bats.
