At lease Bautista had demonstrated great pitch selection and an above avg ability to get on base. That's why he started 2010 at lead off before he broke out to hit 54 HRs.
Edwin had great raw power and hit 26 HRs with CINN and had an above avg wRC+ and OBP.
Nobody could tell what was to come of course, but there were signs I don't see in Parades that were positive.
