  1. Gibby really threw him into the deep end last night. I was surprised he would bring him in against a SH like Beltran the way he has been hitting the ball and with his awful numbers against LHH. Beltran stung it pretty well, but right to Pillar. We got a bit lucky on that one. Id like to see him used more just against a tough RHH (a roogy) until we really see what he has left.
  2. Ya, today. Right at end of BC he was interviewed by Blair.
  3. ride Barney as long as we can, because this isn't going to last with the stick. he has been doing a great job.
  4. that's what he said on baseball central interview today.
  5. bit surprising how little Tulo seems to be missed in the line up right now.
  6. Good Loop would be such a boost to this pen as a loogy.
  7. He is being productive consistently. Was that single off of Chapman a mirage?
  8. Hitting the ball a lot harder. Good to see.
  9. It's only 7 runs. Don't get carried away.
  10. That's some clutch E-Rex right thar! Keep it rollin boys and tack on a couple more!
  11. They have to find out. When you look at K/BB rate you don't know whether you are getting Delabar V2 or something similar to the arm he was.
  12. Not like he is Leon. Put him in some leverage situations against RHH, and hope his walk issues are behind him.
  13. We need Edwin to hit more than we need Martin to get hot, given that's all he does. It's funny how many RBI's he has given he really hasn't hit well with RISP yet 2016. They both seem to be having better ABS now overall. Martin's outs are even getting louder. Edwin is non stop being pitched away and he is chasing more than the norm. I don't know if it's frustration or decline. When he is locked in, he has a a great eye. I just wish he moved up on the plate a bit and had more success driving the ball to RCF. The line up has been getting some key hits to RF lately(off Chapman, Betances, Kimbrell) but it's not often Edwin is a part of that.
  14. Gonna be a Chavez and Floyd et al kinda night. Nice job by Happ to get out a tough inning with no runs.
  15. Crap. One of the few things we have been lucky with is the overall play of Zeke with a .8 WAR to date. Cant ask for much more than that from a 4th OF at league min.
  16. The issue with the 30+ year olds performance has been real. Conversely the BoSox HanRam, Pedroia and Papi 30+ group are having better overall starts than 2015...a year older.
  17. 2016 is a better team on paper. They just haven't performed as well...yet. Last year's team at this time was also looking for its way. We still had Reyes at SS and were using Cola et al in LF.
  18. Not scoring that LO 2B with Jose and JD hurts. Jose missed that 91 center cut pitch. Oh well, we are up 4. Lets go Marco!
  19. Holy f*** Pillar.... he is chasing 18 inches inside.
  20. Marco is just dealin' It amazes me he does this with an 89 MPH FB. Dat change.
  21. Sick reaction skills. Wow. He made that look way easier than it was.
  22. I don't say this as much I'd like but that was a beautiful swing on the ball by Goins.
  23. Floyd has been excellent but man....he hangy they bangy. 16% HR to FB. His stuff is filthy but when he leaves the hook up its getting nailed. He was trying to get it down and in under Papi's bat yesterday, but got it up. Hentgen was saying on BC that Floyd needs to stay down and away more and get hurt less out there. The HR/FB should normalize. I love his swing and miss stuff and have confidence in him.
  24. Becoming very frustrating to watch this kid with all the talent he has not make adjustments. The league is only looking down and mostly away on him now, and they are laying off the incessant nibbling. 3.76 xFIP isn't what he could produce with his stuff. His GB% is dropping as hitters lay off and make him bring the ball up. Yesterday he got tattooed. It just seems that in almost every game....BB, dribbler and a couple well hit balls are leading to big innings against him leaving runners on, or the pen when he is pulled. Even the outs were hard yesterday. He just cant get the K's to finish guys off and he has a .290 BABIP against him. Id like to see him lead the league in something other than IP. We already have one back end "innings eater".
  25. Yup. How many times were we down to last strike with Smoak and Martin? Reminded me of the TEX-STL WS game with a lot lower stakes.
