  1. It's only the 1st but I feel like this is a big run for us to get across the way we have been hitting. Let's go boys!
  2. Agreed, except for the one incident with Machado where it did look like he tried to injure to me. Great player but never liked him since that. Its fked up that Odor can get 7 games for punching someone, and yet you are often allowed to get a warning for throwing a projectile at someone at 95 MPH which could do greater damage.
  3. Nor did I. That's why baseball is the best sport on the planet. Ya gotta play it between the lines and RA of all arms has kept us in the game with Price and Zimm last 2 starts. Who saw that comin'? Reminds me of last year when Pillar hit 2 off of Mad Max to win that game. Good job birds to salvage one.
  4. BoSox mgm would have canned him by now. Look at last year for them. That doesn't make it the right decision. Personally Id be willing to try anything at this point and if canning him would help...or have a chance to help...I'm ok with it. I just don't think its going to make much difference. The players are vets and need to figure it out.
  5. Cmon.... HanRam, Pedroia and Papi are all "old" and are all hitting better a year older than last. I understand aging curves but I don't think in a few months JD, Martin, Tulo, Edwin and Jose all became geriatrics. Even younger players like Goins and Pillar are hitting worse than 2015. Saunders is a year older...has been through endless injuries...and is putting up the best wRC+ of his career. I think this is freakish anomaly(like Papi's 200 wRC+) and it should turn around in a big way. If it doesn't it still freakish and we are f***ed and this will be the lost season of the Jays.
  6. We can bitch about Gibby and this and that. There is aways come legit complaining, but 2 runs in 19 innings isn't getting the job done. This is a veteran team that has a track record of performance they aren't meeting yet. It's ugly. Back end arms are thriving against us. It's really disappointing but it isn't Jacoby's fault anymore than 2015 wasn't to his credit.
  7. Me too. There are times I really like Gibby a lot. He clearly has a special relationship with his players that is both good and bad. He has been pretty funny lately.
  8. Lol. Opps. The other pennington we had.
  9. Games like this make me miss hard throwing Chad Pennington.
  10. "Hotter than a snakes ass in a wagon rut" - Robin Williams, Good Morning Vietnam
  11. This is what we are supposed to do against LHP. I thougHt he had Upton down and in looking but he got squeezed.
  12. Great AB and base running by Saunders
  13. Tabby drives me fking bonkers but he isn't wrong here. For once he isn't talking BS platitudes. Just go back to the links from You Tube I posted of 2014 Stro (and/or just look at fangraphs) compared to 2015-16. 2014 was over 20 starts. 2015 he was good, but the league had figured out that part of his game by the Texas series in the playoffs. Now he needs to adjust. Its that simple. His GB% is continuously dropping. They are just laying off until he gets a ball up or they are taking their BBs. He can do this. I have no doubt that he has the pitches and the talent. Between Walker, Stro and Martin they have to figure this out and they will.
  14. I don't think ^ is ever going to happen. 93 wRC+ with his D was worth 4.3 WAR last year. I don't think he will ever be a league avg bat for his position. Last year offensively might be his ceiling. He is still a valuable player especially @ league min.
  15. He has been better than Stro lately. Wrap your head around that for a second.
  16. Papi wRC+ 200 and has a 2.7 WAR already as a DH lol. He is a great hitter but he isn't Bonds. No way at 40+ he tops or come close to 175...his best year ever. Looking forward him cooling off big time.
  17. Let it go men. Enjoy the W and slowly climbing the ladder back up the standings in the AL East. We are leaving the dark times in the rear view mirror.
  18. Absolutely, we lost some we could have won like this one. Starting to even out. I think BoSox are going to hit all year but not this well. We are still due to go on a rampage with the bats like they have imo. End of day 2 of 3 is awesome even if Osuna made it close. He didn't seem to have anything but a good FB today. JBJ hit the slider down and it was a good piece of hitting. I didn't mind the pitch call with them sitting dead red. Great game.
  19. Man, what a series. The BoSox are tough and for real. They battle. So the f*** do we and I"ll take 2 of 3 in Fenway any day. Great job birds. Winning the tight ones...and they are all tight the way those guys are swinging it. All that matters is the W.
  20. You could see this coming in the playoffs last year. Tex touched him up well. Luckily he has the talent and pitches to make adjustments. I don't know if it's the case but I think he started believing his own legend when he cam back last year. There was so much hype and attn on a guy with 20 or so MLB starts. In a way he earned it with his effort and performance. But this is 2016 and its a grind. We need him badly to be the front end guy we hope he can be. A 3.87 XFIP isn't that bad but the K rate is an issue and the BB rate continues to climb. I just see the league looking down and away laying off the 2S FB a lot better. His over use of that pitch seems to have hurt his command of others. Figure it out Stro. We need ya. Times like this I do appreciate Gibby. He is pretty steady eddy with these guys and has a fatherly even keel to avoid the panic. He and the coaches need to help this kid get it going. As much as he is making me crazy right now, I think they will.
  21. Ya. W tomorrow. Missed the game and caught the highlights. Stro struggling. Giving up a ton of hits again and 5 walks. Ug. We need him to figure it out. The trend isn't good to state the obvious. Glad we didn't "save" Osuna last night for today. If we can 2 of 3 I'm very happy and the match up is solid.
  22. Sad to hear this. "Bundini whats my strategy? Float like a butterfly sting like a bee...rumble young man rumble!". He has been a shadow of his former self for so long. Articulate, cocky and so talented. He transcended sport into the geo-political world at a time when the Champ was the Champ....all over the world. He is Legend...the Greatest. Without going into too many details good friend of mine knows Chuvalo. A few years ago Chuvalo took a friend of my friends to dinner with Ali. My friend was gobsmacked because was his hero. He could hardly believe it was Ali and barely said a word. Ali was pretty sick at the time. At the end of a short dinner he offered these guys a ride to the hotel in a limo. In the limo Ali waved this guy to come close. The guy is thinking "this is my big moment, Ali wants to tell me something....some epiphany I can take to my grave". The guy leans in to Ali ready to receive the pearl of wisdom and Ali says to him in his remaining whispered voice "are you getting any pussy?". Ali Boom Ba Yay! RIP Louisville Lip
  23. Sorry to hear Gov. That's brutal on the wee ones and the parents. Sleep deprivation chamber = house. Hope he gets better.
  24. Osuna has brass balls. 2 on and gets behind 3-0 to Boegarts, who is hitting everyone. Papi on deck. Fights back to a full count and then doesn't give in....rears back and elevates a blistering 99 MPH FB to get him to chase for the K. In his mind, if he loses him...meh...he''ll just get Papi. No problemo senor.
  25. Huge win. Feels like Sept already lol. That was intense. I'm stressed...and pumped!!!
