I'm more interested now in how Shatkins handle upcoming walk years. Will they take the JD approach or go ninja like the Rays and shock the world?

    Vlad makes $124,000 a game. Tonight, its safe to say, he didn't earn it. Hopefully he and the team bounce back tomorrow to win the series.

    Curious what the nerds think of Berrios having a 0.85 ERA and a 4.26 xERA. FIP is @ 3.36 Guys not a FIP beater over 1250 IP SS. His career ERA, FIP and xFIP are all the same - 4 Is there anything to the huge spread between ERA and xERA, or is it just noise because its only a 31 IP SS?

    If i recall it seemed like he was solid when asked to go 1, but often when he was asked to sit between innings and come back out, he was no bueno.

    Have to admit I wasn't thrilled when Yimi hit the innings in '23 to roll his deal into '24, but at this point his $6M deal is a godsend.

    On MLB I just watched all of Mason Miller’s Ks this season. Good god! Nate is a poor man’s’ Mason. Will his arm fall off? That breaking ball 102 fastball with run combo should be outlawed. Unless he is a Jay.

    I was aware on his xWOBA but find it interesting. His avg EV and hard hit rates were way down in ‘23. I’m not sure how they correlate statistically?

    Springer's 3/75 is not moveable without eating most of it, so not much point. Maybe a VW/Rios type deal if they can find a mark. But more importantly mentally anyone who thinks we can't move on from Bo and Vlad and still compete need to think about HOU losing Correa, Cole and Springer. Freeman and Swanson leaving ATL after WS. All players worth more than Vlad and often more than Bo has been. The Rays lost Wander f***ing Franco and Glasnow and too many others to count, and they remain ahead or right there with us in the standings. Our "core" has been largely a mirage. The Yanks have gone through a lot. Cole is out. Judge slow start. DJL on the IL. Severino never panned out with IL stints. Rodon inconsistency. Yet 15-7 leading D. Its not even the end of April so much can change. After 60-70 ish games all will have a much better sense where we are but as early as this trade deadline could be very interesting for fans and this FO.

    Bo's start. 0 WAR. 6th percentile range @ SS. For some reason his sprint speed is way up in '24. He will get the bat going but signing him long term paying any premium for him as a SS makes no sense to me.

    A perfect night. Bruins get most of the bounces to smoke the Leafs Game 1 without Pastrnak or Marchand hitting the net yet, and the Jays get another W on the road.

    BUFF does look really good. On a ranking basis, apples to apples at a point in time, the farm is 18-21. If Ricky moves to MLB (increasingly less likely) we drop to 23-25th. Take out Orelvis moving up and we fall to around 30th. Those aren't my opinions...those are from ranking orgs that look at all farms on a relative basis. I realize these rankings are an imperfect science, and can change, but its arguably the best apples to apples information we have.

    20 games. Exactly. Hot takes are flying everywhere. Some arms and bats are over performing. Some are under performing. Its not even the end of April lol. Yariel pitches less than 8 MLB innings, and Jays X wants him in the CY conversation. He looks great but these things shake out and normalize in MLB. Look at Davis Schneider's historic debut in '23 to now. Manaoh went from Jays '23 opening day and home opener starter to getting his tits lit in A ball in 2024. JT, Biggio and IKF are like our top bats now. We are f***ed if that continues. It won't! Vlad, Bo, Springer and Kirk will all do more than they are now. Settle in for the long 162 grind of peaks and valleys, and a trade deadline. At the end of it all we will have 85-90 wins and be in a playoff spot or not.

    Another killer outing for Yariel. What a boost if he can maintain even close to this. 7k in 4 IP against a tough line up. Unreal.

    When he went to the pen in Japan, his FB jumped from 92-93 to 94-96 with the shorter outings.
