  1. I’ve always said we crushed that trade.
  2. 91 Center cut not missed and sent into RF seats. Well done Varsho!
  3. Rockies are hopeless. Gave him 7/182
  4. Leading the Jays in the line up today OPS - Biggio, IKF and Schneider. Its an upside down world.
  5. Excited for this start to watch Yariel. Nice to come back from 3-0 vs Blackmon and good V.
  6. Agreed. Thought he would but they must see something in him or Yariel that is leading to this. I think they piggyback them and like Francis’s stuff out of the pen better.
  7. IKF off to a hot start playing solid D and 62 points over his career wRC+. More WAR than all of last season already. He has been dubbed the "IF Kevin Pillar". I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts, because some deep valleys are ahead for him in 2024.
  8. Agree its Bo of the two unless you got a friendly deal on Vlad and hope that some of his better underlying numbers start to equate to outcomes more consistently. I'd give him 6/115 Alvarez money no brainer. I don't see Bo's D at SS aging well either. I doubt Bo is going to get any more patient at the plate. He was 10th percentile chase rate in '23 and everyone raves about "leading the league in hits 2/3 years" with him. He relies on his bat to ball skills BAPIP, and seems to be happy with that approach.
  9. The amount of time spent by fans criticizing the coaches & managers is mostly a waste IMO. The incremental Win +/- of all of the coaches & managers combined is small, relative to roster construction and the weighting FO's put on nerd's player projections.
  10. V was better on Avg. Think he topped out 95. He didnt sit at that. But missing spots and movement not usually what it is. I think 7-8 balls hit were 95+ EV . Whiff totals were not bad. He went to his SL more than usual as a result. I dont know about max, but its a concern to any rational person. Worst back to back starts of his career.
  11. Tough year for titans so far. Cole out for Yanks. HOU not sure on Valdez. We are all whistling past the graveyard on Gausman praying its a blip, which it may be, or not. Arms depth is critical for every org trying to make a run. I wonder if AA regrets the Soroka deal with Strider down. He has been bad but chewing up some IP.
  12. Watching Bryant last night, I thought that and Baez deals had near 100% probability they would fail. I stuggle with the long term big AAV deals. I also thought TEX was nuts signing Seagar, Semien and DeGrom on those deals given ages and IL histories, but flags fly forever. The back ends may still end up being bad deals but when you gamble and win, the investment looks better for both a fan and business metrics. OTOH does BOS regret not locking down Mookie? Juan Soto will probably worth what he will get given his hitting profile and age. But these guys are unicorns. I still don't see Vlad or Bo as perpetual 4+ win candidate mega stars. Bo's D has improved, but he still is a bottom half SS and high chase low BB bats don't age well, even when they start off with great bat to ball skills, on the BABIP train. Vlad looks like '23 Vlad again. Alvarez and Yandy Diaz are providing better production on 6/115 and 3/24 deals (Diaz off to slow early start early '24 - but those deals don't grow on trees either) Some big choices ahead for our team.
  13. Espino worked on Mayza in the off season.
  14. Espino talent wasted in pen. He has earned a rotation spot.
  15. Seems like ages ago Springer was yanking those balls into the LF seats.
  16. Nice to see Varsho get one and the monkey off his bat. Hopefully it gets him going some.
  17. It makes it a lot less annoying when we have won the last 2 and his current wRC+ is 50 points over his career number. He is on pace for 4-5 WAR after 12 gms lol.
  18. Maybe he will have a cold April and a hot 5 months after. The opposite of ‘23. It’s a long season.
  19. From 4 hole to start '23 to sitting vs a RHP in the home opener to hitting 9th vs a RHP the next night. Trying to take any pressure off him to try to get him going likely. He nowhere near as bad as he has started. Just let Jano go for '25 and make him a C already. I guess he could go to CF next yr which I thought was the plan for this year. Although the aged KK looked pretty mighty still out there last night.
  20. I have said that because I think its just a fair comment but you raise a good point for TOR. But I'm not just talking about arm surgeries. Other injuries happen like Stro wrecking his knee fielding a bunt in ST in 2015. We broke camp with our two top leverage pen arms on the IL this season. Who knows how that rolls out. Gausman and Berrios have a lot of IP on them and the Hound is 36. The last time I can remember the health we had in the staff last year was I think 2016. Dam Berrios was good last night. In any case to your point on TOR figuring out the secret sauce for pitching arm health here is an article from 2015 alleging just that, and "that its not rocket science." https://www.thestar.com/sports/blue-jays/blue-jays-suffered-fewest-pitching-injuries-in-baseball-in-2015/article_6f418e28-47f0-536e-8a30-366f845a283b.html
  21. How the f*** did he bash that out ? lol. It wasn’t a bad pitch.
  22. Love it! Show me a starter who wants off the bump and I’ll show you a loser.
  23. So good to see Berrios rebound with an incredible home opener do over!
  24. Bit of BABIP on luck on our side too. Always nice. KK playing D on full tilt tonight. He is a beast.
