  1. Fair. Likely correct. I hate the toe tap he has. Its more pronounced than 2021. He is in between or late on heat way too often. Chipper Jones is the only hitter I can think of who could master it at an elite level for a sustained period, and he did it as a SH.
  2. Anyone heard any updates on Green IL stint? Big RP FO investment this off season, and a key arm for this pen.
  3. Its not a video game or a fantasy league. The FO is responsible for roster construction, drafting and development. How much weight they put on nerd projections is their call. Any business that just blames their employees (players and coaches) for "under performance" without taking full accountability is doomed. I know what Steamer projected was going to happen but who really thinks making a bet to roll out Kirk, Springer and Vlad again would resurrect this offense to score more runs? and yeah I know what their team wRC+ was last year and this season. JT was a good piece who may over perform his 105 projection, but they spent resources elsewhere as a luxury tax team, and failed to close other targets they pursued. Sucks. But in business, coffee is for closers and this isn't the try league. We hoped they would bring us a sustainable winner. So far they have brought us sustainable competitive luxury tax mediocrity. Also, and I have to keep reminding myself of this during this skid, its only April and by the end of all this the FO might look like geniuses. And if so, great.

Don't want to get cocky as we blew a 3-1 series lead just last year, and I dislike the Habs a lot more than the Leafs, but man that Leafs disintegration last night for all to see was enjoyable. I don't know how many posts I saw on X about how this Leafs team was much different and much grittier this regular season. All hail Tre etc etc. Treliving left a complete dumpster fire behind him here in Calgary. A total mess.
  5. The good news is we didn't burn IKF today, so he is available to pitch tomorrow.
  6. On our last out tying run at the plate I'm taking my chances with Springer over IKF any time.
  7. Tony Robbins and Richard Simmons will tag team to get him right.

I have been watching clips of his calls on X. Gives me chills. Sakic in Salt Lake for gold medal and some awesome old time hockey tilts. "Give Crosby two assists on that one!" Grew up listening to Danny Gallivan and Cole. Both were incredible. RIP Bob Cole. Gavillan had a vocabulary nobody else used. "cannonading shot" "scintillating save" etc I still use "rag the puck" a lot and people look at me like I have 3 heads.
  10. Rebuild doesn't make sense. Nobody has a crystal ball, but who didn't think at the time that missing the playoffs by a game in 2021 wasn't a massive missed opportunity? We added Berrios at the deadline, but the pen performance in '21 will haunt us. We had CY winner and 2nd and 3rd in MVP on that team. We even had Tanner Roark!
  11. Its not a great bet to expect an aging and often injured Springer, Vlad, Fat slow bat Kirk to drive an offensive resurgence. We knew it would be a tall order to expect the pitching staff to repeat health and performance from 2023. The '24 team is 23rd in runs scored in 2024. 13th in wRC+. 19th in ISO. In ERA, FIP, WAR we are 21st to 28th. We show better on xFIP so unlucky on FBs? Kooch and Berrios have overperformed. Gausman under. Yariel helpful. All those team pitching numbers were way better in 2023. Even though its a SSS which can skew the numbers, every team has had a blow out or 2 against them a month in. We are tops in MLB D so far, which offsets the FIP some.
  12. Watched the E they gave Biggio last night on a great play a couple times this am. Vlad did his big stretch in towards the IF rather than towards the angle Biggio was at from the bag. He totally whiffed on a easily makeable one hopper. His D has been s***. This after just being late on 95 and hitting a lazy FB into RF. wRC+ 103. Bo, Vlad and Springer - top 3 in order - worth combined 0.4 WAR (and Springer is the 0.4) after 27 games. I can't wait for April to be over.
  13. We used to make fun of Cito and other hitting coaches "Pull dat ball" philosophy. In '24, we salute them as oracles, and beg our players to adopt the doctrine.
  14. If you read the Board comments on the year end '23 pressers, even many of the FO shills thought Ross should go, especially after throwing Schneider under the bus on the Berrios move, but after 15 minutes of perpetual orgasm listening to the the silver tongue & soothing tones of Mark Shapiro, the Pied Piper who will bring us cup holders, it was all good again. The clean up on aisle 4 was a walk in the park for him. He Made Ross Great Again. #MRGA
  15. Reading your posts Olerud363 is like looking at that old comic strip series "The Far Side". I can't get through them all, but I do like it on the Board and I like that you have that same long history with our team. (Don't mind Dick Pole, I think he thinks most people are insane or useless, and thats why I like him )
  16. That kid reminds me of when Glasnow bloomed for the Rays after coming over in the PITT deal. Giant stud throwing filth that is virtually unhittable. Or Thor when he came up with the Mets (sigh). Its what we all dreamed Nate would be.
  17. Yanks down 3-1 in the bottom of the 8th. 1 out and dun dun dun....Mason Miller is warming in the pen. Get the popcorn. f*** the Yankee line up is hitting like dogshit. They are very glad they got Soto. He is carrying them early. And in comes Mason....
  18. Berrios ERA skyrockets to 1.23 Send him to Buffalo.
  19. Bo knows. We don't. Good analysis. He is predictable. If I hadn't watched Bo be a 90-100 bat for 5/8 of 2022 I'd be a lot more worried he could be solved. But he exploded at the end somehow to post his best ever 130 wRC+. Does he need to make some adjustments? Can he? He and Vlad are so late on heat so often.
  20. Yep. You have to add George to that list hitting lead off and being paid $25M. Overall we sit 13th in wRC+ BAL is 2nd and the Yanks are 8th. Judge is right there with Vlad at 108. It still only April and some great hitters are off to slow starts. We are still right where we started the year. To be a good offence we need those stars to heat up and be stars.

Oh buddy. Marchand is the best! Love that player.
  22. I think the only one is named Hader bud and he cost 5/95.
  23. Yes. But team reports are they liked the quality of the BBs, hits and home runs.
  24. You always get my bad jokes. You should get that checked out.
  25. He made the catch. Nice. But I think Vogelbach might be better in LF.
