    no expert. he looks ok. his throw to 2B was about as bad as it gets. We have seen really bad catchers and so far Im not seeing any of our guys look like that lol

    His BB last night in 10th was sooooooooo huge. Hell of an AB. I think he looks better and wont be long before he heats up. Behind the plate he has been a pleasant surprise. Remember what it was like watching JP Arencebia back there? Now that was a bad defensive catcher. Kirk is fine.

    Good stuff. Thanks. I agree. Borucki stuff looked good but BB'ed a couple. His command lacks at times. If the pen can keep the BBs down the swing and miss is probably less important. I like pen power arms. Cimber has been ok the last few times out but he and Richards are right there with Garcia. Useful. Merryweather can be more useful in leverage to us as we go. He has to stay out of the middle of the plate so much, but his stuff is electric and the V is ticking back up. Who didn't love Romano throwing nothing but FBs to JD Martinez getting a foul and 2 whiffs? The Garcia stuff was out of hand "he knows how to pitch" "hes done it before" "he has 5 pitches" "he is the guy to face the other teams best" "he has been a closer" on and on. The guy is useful and I like his arm but anointing him the designated "set up man" with his vetrin presents is a mistake.

    Missed game. Watched on PVR. Wow. Kudos to those who stuck it out. Looked over. Hopefully now we can stop building Garcia into something he isn't. He is a useful arm for sure but our pen still lacks swing and miss stuff. Unsung was Kirk's walk in the 10th. Acted as a bunt without the risk of him f***ing up a bunt or grounding into a DP. Gausman has been so fun to watch. This team really doesn't give up.

    ya thats him. Nope my friend never worked in hockey. His sister married Brent and they are all from Red Deer Sylvan Lake area.

    My friends nephew plays in the NHL. 32 and in perfect shape. Got C-19 in early 21 and felt better in 4-5 days. Was back on the ice. Then sick again. Now long covid and cant walk a half mile with his family. Slowly feeling a bit better but for a long time he thought his career was over. It still may be. This is an anomaly obviously but its interesting/concerning what happens a percentage of people from this long term.

    OMG lol. his numbers are a mirage. Balls crushed. Seems to be working fingers crossed. nice K pitch to Martinez. Good sequence but he did get lucky on 94 center cut he missed.

    Bo late on a 98 MPH FB and then chases a breaking ball in the dirt to K. Story of his season so far. Just got wrecked. Completely over matched.

    We have some great RHH but I still think no LHH impact bats is a big issue for this team with the filth the top RHP and pens throw.

    Martin compares in many ways with Yadier who is seen as 1st ballot HOF. He compares in some ways with Posey. Posey had more uber elite seasons. But a Catcher should be rewarded for durability and consistent value in the hardest position to play. I've heard more people say Sal Perez should be in the HOF than Martin. I agree Martin will be passed over, which is a shame.

    Martin is one of the most under rated catchers/players I've ever seen. So good in so many aspects of the game. 55 career WAR.

    Agree. Bo was a 5 WAR player at 23. He is never going to be Wander Franco. His plate discipline and aggressiveness is awesome when its working and blows when it doesn't lol. He is one of those frustrating players who just does what got him there, but we can all see if he could just exercise a bit more selectiveness he could be so much better. The league is just going to keep on his weakness and make him a mistake hitter. Of course he knows this. Javier Baez is an extreme example of a similar issue at the plate.

    Lol. He does. I love that. He just comes out and throws filth efficiently and then disappears. Ho hum.

    Tim Mayza. The numbers and the eye test solid so far building off what was a brutal start in 21, but he turned it around quickly after being sent down. His 2 seam looks heavy and lots of sink. Anyway. Fapping.

    I think they were egregious. Buts its all beside the point. There is or very soon will be a much better technological solution that will bring unparalled consistency and accuracy to calling balls and strikes. I'm done with Ump Shows and old fashioned elements of the game like moronic varying zones from different umps. Cost us 2015.
