  1. I'm not even joking, it seriously DOES sound like he's got a good buzz going at times during some broadcasts.
  2. Every game is a win-win at this point; we get to enjoy it when they actually win every now and then, and we get to enjoy the tank for a top-5 pick when they lose. Plus, the more we suck, the more ownership will be incentivized to get us a McCann/Cano/Garza in the offseason if we continue derping, or blow it up and start over, starting with canning Beeston and AA.
  3. I can't remember the last time we had 5 hitters in our lineup hitting .280+ this late in the season......
  4. Sweet, a chance for the 4-game sweep today. :-)
  5. Redmond is a perfectly serviceable 7th or 8th starter, and I say that in all seriousness. Good depth guy for 3 or 4 starts a year if/when needed. He's been fine.
  6. He was no better than the rest of them at the time he went down, not sure where you're getting that idea.
  7. Hurt in a car? Call William Mattar.
  8. I don't see why people are still talking about Happ, he's f***ing trash. Let him star at Buffalo, and in helping the Bisons be competitive, encourage them to extend their affiliation agreement with us beyond next season, hopefully for an extended term. That is the biggest help he could possibly be for the Jays.
  9. Hah, glad I crashed early last night and missed this one. Good to see Lawrie getting dat average up to .222, Reyes closing in on 10 dingerzzzzzzzz. Once Lawrie and Reyes reach 10 HR we'll have 7 to hit that milestone won't we? Gotta look for the positives in a season like this. edit: Oh and of course we "lost", too. Good news all 'round.
  10. Just to be clear, even if they were in first place that kind of immature s*** would be annoying, these are grown men acting like tryhard teenagers for f***s' sake, but when you're in last place it's absolutelyunf***ingforgiveable. These juvenile twats seem to have NO f***ING IDEA how ridiculous they look carrying on like this. Mind-boggling lack of class and self-awareness.
  11. If I was on this team I'd be the most hated guy in the dugout, bar none. Why? Because I'd not be able to restrain myself from losing my f***ing s*** every time these clowns did one of their juvenile customized "handshakes" or dances or lovistes because someone just hit a double to get us back within 5 runs in a game where we're sitting last in the division with a losing record. f***ing assclowns, I've seen middle-schoolers conduct themselves with more grace and tact. So unbelievably immature and unlikeable, like no other Jays team I've ever seen.
  12. Who the f*** cares, what do you possibly expect to receive back for any of these guys that will have any tangible effect on the club going forward? Ohhhhhh, a 26 year old scrub who is repeating AAA for the fourth year in a row!1!!!1!!!11 Seriously man...........a bag of balls would be good. Rajai might get you a C prospect at best. Forgive me but I just can't work up a fraction of a f*** about the possible return any of these 25th men might get you in return.
  13. I have a hard time giving so much as one-tenth of a f*** either way. But here is my fantasy wish-list for MLB changes.......... -Knock it off with this foolishness of having home field in the WS being determined by a f***ing exhibition contest between fantasy teams. -All playoff series 7 games, limited off-nights between games so we stop seeing these 3-man playoff rotations. -Top 6 teams from each league make the playoffs with each division winner guaranteed one of those spots, first-round byes to the top-2 teams from each league.
  14. Even the casuals have caught on now, due in no small part to the campaign on here, I'm sure. It's part of the zeitgeist surrounding this team now that he's bad. The vocal minority of hardcore fans have managed to spread the word and it's slowly metastasized within the casual fanbase and become common knowledge.
  15. Not really, he was pretty bad from the beginning. Not trading Bosh when we all knew he was leaving, trading for Jermaine O'Neal........... Sure, we won the division his first year with an average 47-win team, but that wasn't due to him. he inherited a decent team and added a few minor pieces and the rest of the Atlantic sucked that year, we won it pretty much by default.
  16. Looking back on it, that can actually work both ways; teams with a good offence will accept the low AVG/OBP in the bottom of the order, teams with bad offences would gladly take the power potential and overlook the low AVG/OBP. 29 other teams, plenty of opportunity. We only need one to bite.
  17. -lol @ "media first catcher"- Man, poor JP. For his own sake, I hope he never visits this place.
  18. Even if he doesn't do THAT well, like I said, there are always teams out there who have a good enough offence that they'll take the bitter with the sweet and appreciate 20+ HR power from the 9 hole at catcher, or get desperate because they're in the race and their starting C just went down. Most B prospects never amount to anything, not like we'd be asking for Bundy or anything FFS. lol
  19. Yup. Although that more than 100% inflation on his career average FB/HR ratio is a hard pill to swallow when put down merely to luck. That's a LOT of bad luck. Or a lot of meatballs. Just "one of those years" I guess. The fatalist pessimist in me says he'll revert back to a legit #2 the second he lands with another team.
  20. I'd bet they would if we're once again in 4th/5th place. Even this FO sees the writing on the wall at THAT point, you would hope......... If we're this bad, or even just .500 or slightly below at the '14 deadline, I think they clean house. I hope to Jahbulon they do, anyhow.
  21. Well I do. Same context, the sport is irrelevant. Assets for assets. The GM game is the same whatever the sport. And Bargnani was seen as even more toxic around the league than JP is within MLB. Derp GM's gonna derp. You can always rely on human stupidity to shake up what "should" happen in any given situation.
  22. Luck? Or rightly deserved due to s***** pitching due to injury and/or natural decline? Most likely a combination of the two, with partial credit given to this being a negative outlier year for him in general.
  23. Well then call me Stretch Armstrong. People thought we couldn't even give away Andrea Bargnani, and we got back a 1st round pick and 2 2nd rounders, plus a decent role-player. There's always going to be one team out there that's either in a playoff spot or within 5 games of one at the deadline, with an injured catcher or one that they're dissatisfied with. Situations change, GM's get desperate (cough, cough).
