  1. You have to think September 2014 at the very latest, no? Unless everyone's dealing and were in the hunt, which I severely doubt.
  2. What a surprise, the Forum Brown-Noser obviously takes the side of the guy who's been here his whole life over the newcomer, despite all evidence to the contrary. Still mad that I called you out on your homosexual crush for your imaginary husband perhaps? edit: Here's a tip kid, Facebook is where people play at being e-popular. But I guess that requires posting pics of yourself, doesn't it?
  3. Now you're going to try and spin it as if you were trolling me all along? lol Glad that you actually admitted that you were lying half an hour ago when you tried to pretend that I was the one who didn't show, see what I said about how you always manage to make yourself look bad? You really are your own worst enemy. Done with you brother. You showed me how shameless you are. I cannot converse with people who lack self-esteem to the extent that you obviously do. Let's just agree to be two ships passing in the night on here from now on so as to not pollute the board with this s*** for everyone else.
  4. Ugh........... -lmao- It's okay, I found out that you're some old loud Viking/pirate looking motherf***er with a limp. I wouldn't have had the heart to hit you even if you HAD shown up brother.
  5. Uh..................see the "trading Bautista" thread. How did I know you'd try that? edit: last couple pages. I swear, I knew you were going to pull the whole "don't show, try to claim it was the OTHER guy who didn't show" BS.
  6. Actually, see the link I posted. Looks like Wind so far is the better choice after all........research is continuing.......... I care about this s*** too much.
  7. -rofl- You crack me up with that s***. Just quietly enjoy your sense of contextual superiority, in situations like that that's the only way to win. No sense getting angry and shaking your fist at all the Philistines.
  8. Amen, brother. Preach. This franchise deserves this season. Motherf***ers, you abort a sound plan to go all Derpy McDerpusson, this is what you deserve.
  9. http://forums.redflagdeals.com/mobilicity-vs-wind-mobile-great-debate-1144793/ Huh. Maybe I jumped the gun, see the Wind vs Mobilicity debate here...........
  10. Apparently Wind has horrid reception and 'net, from what I've been reading online. Doing research right now between looking at this place........... Mobilicity gets much better consumer ratings, and no complaints about reception/no internet unlike Wind. At this point i'm willing to pay more per month and have less choice of handset, Wind's consumer scores are THAT bad.
  11. Isn't that what Terminator was implying? The way I interpret what he wrote, you agree with him on that score. For the record, I'm a believer in that too. AA's 180 degree turnaround in modus operandi was just inexplicable unless you believe he was forced from The Board, through Beast-tonne to do this, to build a "winner" quickly, The Plan be damned.
  12. Ok, gotcha. I figured that was where you were coming from, fair enough.
  13. If that doesn't happen I'd be shocked. Well, if we didn't TRY to, anyhow. He might now want to return. McCann, Cano and Garza would be the dream offseason if we're going to commit to going full derp with this old roster, high-payroll no-farm BS.
  14. Yeah I was wondering about that, Mobilicity almost got sold to one of the big boys a few months back, but the CRTC almost gave me a heart attack by ACTUALLY RULING IN FAVOUR OF THE CONSUMER FOR THE FIRST TIME EVAAAAAAAAH!!!!!111111! They're all f***ed by 2015 you say? Crap. lol
  15. Market refers to your POSSIBLE pool of fans. Not just the ones who currently give a s***. Any business that only markets to people who ALREADY patronize their establishment is looking to die a quick death, which is precisely why none of them DO market themselves in such a fashion. The fact that they run TV/print/radio ads and sponsor events throughout the GTA is proof of this strategy. They know the baseball nerds are going to be there anyway, they want to attract new fans too, because they're a business and the first rule of business is to maximize your revenue potential. You do this by attempting to attract as many patrons within your market as possible. Come on man, you KNOW this, stop being stubborn.
  16. You do realize that the bottom part of our brain, the primitive structure that controls simple tasks such as breathing/instinctual reactions is referred to as the reptilian brain because it's similar in structure/performance to the brains of reptilians such as crocodiles, right? Jeez............I suppose your mind instantly went to the Alpha Draconis star system, right?
  17. Speaking purely from my own first-hand experience, the buzz regarding the Jays was HUGE this past winter, people I know who never gave two f***s about the sport were suddenly trying to jump on the bandwagon so fast it made my head spin. It was the "in" team in the GTA again. Now? the same dynamic is working in the opposite direction; everyone's dumping on them, how disappointing they've been........they're NOT going to be an easy sell next year. Ah well. Winning will solve that problem right quick. However I don't really see us finishing higher then 4th next year. I think the Yanks or O's might fall off a little, most likely the Yanks, but that's it. Yay.
  18. Well then that's just wrong.
  19. They burned the casuals this year, I don't see them being so easy to fool for a second straight year, unless the team is in first place in late July. THEN they might start coming back. But it's going to be back to 20k a night for the first few months until they show something.
  20. I DO have a cheap plan; $30/month unlimited talk/text/data from Public Mobile. Only problem is they don't carry and decent handsets, thinking of switching to Wind or Mobilicity for this reason. I purposely screwed both Bell and Rogers for $700 and $900 respectively a few years ago, told 'em to go f*** themselves when they offered to settle for like 20% of that. Credit score took a hit, but I don't buy anything on credit anyhow.
  21. Look man, I'm talking about largest market. Third-largest metro population to have an MLB franchise equals the third-largest MLB market. Simple. The fraction of that market that consider themselves to be knowledgeable is irrelevant to this particular point. They pay the same money for tickets/merchandise as the noobiest casual. MLB wants your money, they couldn't give two f***s about how much you know so long as you get your ass down to the ballpark, stuff your face with s***, and buy lots of apparel. Sad, but true.
  22. Who says he's loyal? Because he signed an extension with us? He signed that because he was unwilling to take the risk of dropping off and thus leaving money on the table due to his poor performance, we signed him to that because we were unwilling to take the risk of him continuing to kill it and thus have to either pay him even more, or lose him. Cold, calculating reptilian decision making from both sides, as it should be in any business arrangement. This was no different.
  23. Hah, I called it. I knew that would be your response. Your example is apples and oranges though, because Toronto has a larger proportion of Jays fans compared to NY/LA in MLB than Phoenix does Coyotes fans compared to MTL in the NHL. Phoenix CMA is 4.2 mil, Montereal CMA 3.8 mil as of 2010. edit: obviously I'm just talking out of my ass when I deign to know the proportion of GTA residents that are Jays fans, and then KNOWLEDGEABLE Jays fan as that, just as you are when you make statements about more knowledgeable fans in other cities outnumbering their counterparts in the GTA. My point was that we ARE the 3rd largest metro area in the MLB, and thus, the 3rd largest market.
  24. Can't afford to piss off some of the bandwagoneers now, can we? Running the franchise the wrong way to appease those who don't know any better is just good business, apparently. It's akin to letting your toddler eat nothing but candy because that's what they like. In a year they'll have no teeth, but wtf they wanted it?! edit: just saw Gibbers used a similar kid-food analogy to address the same point too, hah.
