  1. In my opinion, it would be nice if Vladdy hit a 3-run bomb here.
  2. Excellent at-bat. Bo already in mid-season form.
  3. A very Spring Training start. Two guys swinging on the first pitch and an error in the outfield.
  4. It's an embarrassment that this piece of s*** network is airing the Yankees broadcast and can't put on their own production.
  5. With spring training officially opening, I'm submitting my first 26-man roster of the season. None of the below takes into account options, contract status or realistic playing time. I know Jansen will be the starting catcher, Biggio probably won't lead off, and Semien won't be anywhere near the bottom of the order. This is just how I'd ideally play it myself given what we know now and the pieces the Blue Jays currently have available. I'm going to have an updated version of this at the end of Spring Training or in the event of a significant acquisition. 01 | 3B | Cavan Biggio 02 | CF | George Springer 03 | SS | Bo Bichette 04 | LF | Lourdes Gurriel Jr. 05 | 1B | Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 06 | RF | Teoscar Hernandez 07 | CA | Alejandro Kirk 08 | DH | Rowdy Tellez 09 | 2B | Marcus Semien B1 | CA | Danny Jansen B2 | OF | Randal Grichuk B3 | UT | Joe Panik B4 | OF | Jonathan Davis SP1 | L | Hyun-Jin Ryu SP2 | R | Nate Pearson SP3 | L | Robbie Ray SP4 | R | Ross Stripling SP5 | L | Steven Matz SP6 | R | Tanner Roark CL | R | Kirby Yates SU | R | Jordan Romano SU | R | Rafael Dolis LS | L | Ryan Borucki MR | R | Julian Merryweather LR | R | Tyler Chatwood LR | R | Anthony Kay Notes: I'm rolling with a 6-man rotation since nobody is stretched out for a full season of games in the previous year. If Semien is the real deal, I'm dropping Biggio to 9, Springer to 1, Bichette to 2, and Semien to 3. The line-up on days that Kirk is starting is potentially bonkers 1-through-9. A bench of Jansen, Grichuk and Panik is practically unfair. Relief corps probably looks a lot different opening day vs what it looks to be now. Rotation has a chance to be a huge strength for the team or a total garbagefire.
  6. First lineup card of the year, let's go!
  7. There's more than enough space but despite all of the advancements, they still have this ******** antiquated idea of dangling the MLB-quality amenities at the complex as a brass ring for the minor leaguers to reach for instead of letting them get too comfortable. Personally, I hate that s***. Many of these players will never make the majors and I think they're motivated enough to get to the majors as it is. Let them enjoy a little taste of it while they can.
  8. Sporstnet broadcast schedule for Spring Training:
  9. Yeah that's an unbelievable facility. I can't imagine it not playing a factor in attracting players in the future.
  10. In a 45 minute call, the guy managed to: - Offend Japanese people. - Offend Latino people. - Offend translators and anyone who uses a translator. - Offend his past/present star. - Offend his two future stars. - Offend the TV network that broadcasts their games. - Offend the local residents. - Throw his own team under the bus. Over and over and over and over again. - Imply that it's a good thing the Mariners have a bum payroll. - Imply that it's a good thing that he gets his employees to park further away, in a neighborhood he claims is unsafe, so he can price-gouge on his parking lot. - Throw the owners under the bus by admitting service time manipulation. - Throw the owners under the bus by implying there was collusion in free agency.
  11. With the new schedules pitting the same teams against each other for so many games, I wonder how much drama and fighting we'll see in the minor leagues this year.
  12. Anthopoulos' track record on extensions/re-signings should be framed and hung in the Louvre. Our big Greek boy absolutely ravaged Acuna and Albies on those early 2019 extensions.
  13. Big BJMB target off the board. No way he made sense for the Jays at that price.
  14. FanGraphs got jokes. Poor Orioles, lmao.
  15. If they were genuinely in on Bauer up until the very end, they could probably afford both Paxton and Odorizzi and also bring in Rosenthal all in the same amount of money that they'd probably been offering Bauer alone. They're not going to do it but that's what it would cost.
  16. 8 guys remain on the FanGraphs Top 50: Paxton, Odorizzi, Walker, Bradley, Rosenthal, Gardner, Porcello, Shoemaker.
