  1. Chisolm with just a hideous hit to get on against Burnes.
  2. Harvey's been sloppy tonight but the Yankees haven't capitalized.
  3. With all three of those games running around the same time, I'm probably going to be focusing on the Marlins/Brewers game. Haven't watched either pitcher before and they're both having bonkers seasons. Burnes especially.
  4. This is ODT #1 (off-day thread #1) but it's the fourth off-day of the season. Thought this could be a fun new tradition on days when the Blue Jays aren't playing. Around Baseball is always there but these threads will try to spotlight a few major storylines or games to follow on off-days when there isn't much else to do and provide a dedicated game thread for those matches. Feel free to offer suggestions for other games or storylines you think should be included in the main post and I'll update accordingly. Today's spotlights are on Shohei Ohtani, who becomes the first player to start a game while leading the majors in home runs since Babe Ruth, the Yankees vs Orioles AL East on AL East game and a showcase of two potential future aces in Trevor Rogers and Corbin Burnes.
  5. Off-Day #4 Schedule | Standings | FanGraphs | News | Video | Reddit Two Blue Jays rivals clash at Camden Yards as Matt Harvey takes the mound Yankees @ Orioles — 7:05 PM Exciting young aces-in-the-making square off at American Family Field Marlins @ Brewers — 7:40 PM Shohei Otani becomes the first player to start a game while leading the majors in Home Runs since Babe Ruth on June 13, 1921 Angels @ Rangers — 8:05 PM
  6. It looks like Ryu actually hurt his ass before the game and then played through it:
  7. Looks like a defensive shake-up as a result of the sloppy infield play lately. Seems like they clearly wanted to get Semien at short and Espinal at third. Only way to do all of the above and still get Tellez in the lineup would have been benching Bichette (DH) or Vladdy (1B). That's not happening, lol.
  8. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think that can change up until they hand in the lineup. I feel like if Springer was ruled out for today, someone would have tweeted about it by now. Edit: Looks like someone did.

  10. Rooting for a tie and having the game go long enough for Vlad to get back to the plate, get on base and keep his streak going.
  11. Didn't watch much last year so I wasn't familiar with Romano but he was super hyped going into this season. All I've seen him do is look like an idiot out there with his setup and throw garbage outside of the zone all season long.
  12. lol I predicted Romano would give up a 5-pitch walk and then back to back steals. Here's hoping he makes me eat s*** on at least half of that.
  13. His setup is one of the most obnoxious things in baseball for me, lol. It's also a massive welcome mat for people to steal on him. I wouldn't be surprised if he leads all relievers in steals given up by the end of the season.
  14. Thanks! lol sorry, I had no idea that the person who was making the game threads was predetermined. @G-Snarls, feel free to delete this thread and put up your own! I'll get a future game.
  15. Haven't made one of these in a long time, partly because I got burned out on baseball, partly because I've been really busy the last few years and partly because my user account on this forum is broken and can't format BBCode (I've reached out to admin and haven't gotten a response yet). But getting married last year and introducing my wife to baseball has kind of rekindled my love for the sport and I'm firmly back in the saddle. I'm still not posting here as much as I used to because I'm watching every game with her but I'm definitely around a lot more. Going to start trying to contribute here a little more often and I've found a BBCode editor I can use to build out threads like this and the draft threads down the road so I can provide people with graphic and info-rich discussion posts again. Hopefully admin figures out what's wrong with my account and can fix it so I can go back to building these threads in-house. OP will be updated when lineup is announced.
  16. Game #20 Blue Jays (Ray) @ Rays (Honeywell) Schedule | Standings | FanGraphs | News | Video | Spotlight | Twitter | Reddit | Instagram
  17. I f***ing loathe Montoyo. Probably top 5 people I hate the most in the world.
  18. You always pray when you have a complete gimp for a manager that behind the scenes, your GM is fighting him to be better like that ******** Brad Pitt/Philip Seymour Hoffman storyline in Moneyball. And then you remember that is, in fact, just Hollywood ******** and in real life your GM just extended that guy's contract another year.
  19. It will never not leave me completely flabbergasted that a front office as advanced as the Jays FO can be dumb enough to employ someone like Charlie Montoyo.
