  1. Gotta love straw men.
  2. Did you just ask me why setting the market for Japanese free agents at the same threshold as MLB free agency is bad for the game? Or were you being sarcastic?
  3. Update from MLBTR: http://i.gyazo.com/ea570e03a148393b0b93078956d350e6.png
  4. Tanaka making 160M is also bad for the game.

  6. Epstein didn't lose his job, he got a better one. When they traded Epstein at that time, I said that I wouldn't be surprised if he goes into the Hall of Fame as the GM that broke both the Red Sox and Cubs legendary world series droughts. That prediction is looking better with each passing season, that farm is a f***ing juggernaut.
  7. I remember there being all this drama about how many innings he's thrown, and then I think someone mentioned that Kershaw has thrown as many innings as he has in a similar time frame. Nobody seems to be complaining about that.
  8. Old habit. I don't like how the content of a post is mushed up against the post's header on forum layouts such as this one. Makes it easier to read with a space at the top, and the only way to put a space at the top of the post as if you hit "Enter" is to put any random format tag. It's easy to type "Ctrl+B" so I just go with that. If you simply hit "Enter", BBCode won't recognize it as a real space and re-format the post as if the space doesn't exist.
  9. 12 runs, 16 hits, 4 errors, 3 wild pitches, 4 walks, 2 hours, and we're only through 4 innings. Yay.
  10. I feel bad for Stroman. His pitching line is going to look like s***, but it won't mention that he pitched for 2.5 hours. Long, exhausting, messy-as-f*** game. And who the f*** is Kole Calhoun?
  11. So a couple of key Jays' pitchers are allowed to have chronic injuries but the Yankees ace isn't? Yeah, I'm not on that boat. I'd love if he developed that kind of an injury. Maybe that's a bit f***ed up, but like I said, he's already making more than most players ever will. There's enough star players for me to feast my eyes on with Trout and Darvish and Strasburg and the countless others. I felt bad when Fernandez went down, I felt like s*** when Harvey went down, but I have no sympathy for the luckiest f***ing franchise in the history of sports losing their ace rookie.
  12. Buck: "You would not take this game and use it as an instructional video, that's for sure" I gotta admit that got me, http://i.imgur.com/RN70TUF.gif
  13. Feels like we're playing against the Blue Jays. http://i.imgur.com/py2PxcN.gif
  14. Both managers use their replays before the 3rd inning is over. Umpball incoming.
  15. Yeah, read this on MLBTR. Great news in every way. I'm not even going to drop the "sad to hear"; f*** that. Guy's making 150 Mil and playing for the Yankees. I'll take this every day.
  16. Walked the bases loaded? Doesn't know what he's doing? He's got 26 strikes to only 7 balls... He's only allowed 3 hits so far, and got 4Ks. He's on a f***ing roll today. Reyes f***ed his momentum with that error and forced him to pitch out of the stretch when he wasn't expecting to. It's just his 8th major league start.
  17. No, actually. I don't know who wrote that article you posted, but they must be living under a rock in a cave somewhere. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11173281/oakland-athletics-say-commissioner-bud-selig-approved-move-city-approves-stadium-deal Unless something that was reported as a done-deal somehow fell apart, the A's already finalized their 10-year extension.
  18. Not sure why nobody else mentioned it but s*** like this should be completely unacceptable, especially from a mod. Wow...
  19. ^ I had that picture saved from a few years ago, but it wasn't that large. The overbite is real. Thanks for posting a picture big enough to make that noticeable. I can't have good things.
  20. Hey, friend. Nice trade proposal. Remember when you made this trade proposal as well? Apparently evolution really is just a theory.
  21. GCL Blue Jays 10 GCL Phillies 3 Dunedin, FL - The Jays scored the first nine runs of the ball game, including three in the first. A Yeltsin Gudino sacrifice fly, a Juan Kelly triple and an Angel Gomez single accounted for the first inning runs. Dean Bell singled in another run in the fourth. A two-run double by Kelly and a wild pitch led to three more runs in the fifth and Max Pentecost doubled home two more runs in the sixth. Matt Morgan drove in the final run with a single in the seventh. Pentecost bounced back from a hitless debut with a five-hit game in this one. He had a perfect day at the dish that included two doubles. Kelly, Tejada, Gomez, Bell and Lane Thomas also joined the multi-hit parade with two apiece. Gomez added two walks while Tejada and Thomas had one each. Tejada also stole a base. Roberto Osuna made a successful return to the mound after undergoing Tommy John surgery, striking out two of the three batters he faced in a perfect first inning. Mickey Storey had one strikeout in a perfect second inning before Sean Reid-Foley (1-0) took over. He turned in two shutout innings of one-hit ball while whiffing three. Nick Wells gave up the first two runs on four hits and a walk but struck out five over his three-inning stint. Francis Eduardo struck out one in a perfect eighth but Turner Lee was nicked for a run on three hits but in the ninth. He also struck out a batter. 2014 Draft Class was shining in GCL last night. Pentecost (as was posted many times) went 5-for-5, Lane Thomas got two hits of his own, and SRF went two innings allowing just one hit and getting three K's. Read yesterday's reports for the rest of the minor league affiliates here.
  22. I won't be surprised at all if AA ends up trading for somebody that hasn't been mentioned a single time from anyone.
