  1. Why do people have to be so suicidal when it comes to anything relating to this team?
  2. It didn't, but that's awesome.
  3. In all fairness, I'm pretty sure Gustavo Chacin could walk out there and no-hit the 2014 Padres.
  4. Nothing like a no-hitter at home.
  5. Timmy No-Hit Game is being shown on 120 Sports (great new online channel) http://www.120sports.com/video
  6. Jose Bautista makes an appearance on the new MLB show on MTV called Off the Bat: http://www.mtv.com/videos/off-the-bat-from-the-mlb-fan-cave-ep-112-jose-bautista/1728413/playlist.jhtml
  7. I get what you're saying but if acknowledging the negative affects of a habit was so easy, the countless addictions that plague today's society wouldn't be a problem. People need something to trigger that realization, or as you said, a "wake-up call". It's easy to say "they should have quit long ago" if you don't know the struggle that accompanies that change.
  8. The lowest level of porn.
  9. The greatest thread ever still has to be the "Munenori Kawasaki optioned" thread. That night was the stuff of legend.
  10. Sure, yeah, I liked those movies. What does that have to do with your picture looking like the mugshot of a pedofile? http://i.imgur.com/py2PxcN.gif
  11. Because I'm not f***ed up enough to use a picture of my actual girlfriend on a public forum. But since you say that, does that mean that the people in your profile pictures resemble the people you date?
  12. I'm not saying that I disagree, I was just using it as an example to show the redundant nature of the Around Baseball thread (which at this point is basically just what North was trying to achieve with the "scoreboard watching thread"). Which is why I think there should be an actual forum for non-Blue Jays baseball related things, where threads like that can go. Big signings/extensions/trades, injury-related threads, perfect game/no-hitter/cycle threads, etc, etc. And the main reason behind that isn't just to reduce clutter, but to hopefully attract fans of other teams and sports as well. Right now if a fan of another team comes here, really the only place they can post is in GDTs, and there they get (rightfully) crucified for cheering other teams. If there's a forum where you can universally talk about any other team, maybe more people will join without fear of being ganged up on by Jays fans that are often angry during a game.
  13. And that was exactly why I wanted to create an OTT in this forum, lol. Anything that isn't a fantasy thread will die there.
  14. Why are all of your display pictures of creepy old men?
  15. LOL, I think we established that I did a atrocious job of explaining the thread's purpose. It's a habit, I just assume people know what OTT means. I mean, it's weird that they don't, since OTTs are the second most popular threads outside of GDTs on any forum, but I know that isn't the case here, so I should have done a better job in explaining it. And I wasn't trying to insult ECJF with that picture, it was a joke. You can have an Off-Topic forum for the music thread, games thread etc, while still having an OTT in the main forum. I also think there should be a separate forum for Fantasy sports, I think Around Baseball should get it's own forum as well, and I think there should be an Announcement forum. It's weird that instead of expanding, we're compressing and merging everything together.
  16. Around Baseball is where stuff like this should go: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/3401-Martin-prado http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/3399-Padres-have-fired-GM-Josh-Byrnes-Minaya-interim-GM-) http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/3388-Away-fans-at-Baseball But it doesn't, and the most common reason is that nobody wants to sift through a 500 page thread to find things that matter. And that's because it's poorly used as a massive off-topic thread, which is the main reason I wanted to create one on its own. But like I said, if people are too tight and srs bsns to have a lounge thread, then whatever, forget it. People don't need to bother with my "few paragraph posts", since they've clearly got better things to do,
  17. The last forum I was on did a similar thing like this with OTTs as well. Every OTT was closed after 1000 posts, and whoever got the #1000 post got to create and name the next OTT. It calls for a lot of casual chatter and ragging and becomes a fun thing to do when there's nothing else to talk about on the forum. The Wrestling Forum on PSD ended up needing a new thread every three days and got more than 100K posts out of it. If it picks up, all it does is ease the tension and raise site traffic. I don't know why a mod of all people would have a problem with that. Then that's on me for doing a poor job of explaining what "OTT" means. I assumed people would remember based off the last one, since everyone got along with it and it lasted a while. But since that thread died a long time ago, I can see where the confusion came from. Still, that doesn't change that I think that the main forum should have an OTT. Whenever I have something off topic to talk about, I end up posting it in the Around Baseball thread, and I think a lot of others do the same, which is why those threads become massive. There doesn't need to be a 9K post "Around Baseball" thread. I don't care who creates it, maybe if a mod or someone created it, it would get more traffic.
  18. If the problem with it is that the title or the poll made it confusing, then that makes sense. If the problem with it is that it's simply an off-topic thread, then that makes absolutely no sense. No harm can come from having a lounge thread. The last one was moderately successful and got a lot of traffic early on.
  19. Better than what? It's an OFF-TOPIC THREAD. What the hell is the problem with that?! LOL. I don't get it. Why does everyone have a problem with an OTT? The last one got 400+ posts (and coincidentally, that was pretty much the last time this forum was laid-back and wasn't so bent out of shape).
  20. An off-topic thread. Just like the last one, that got 400+ posts. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/3410-OTT-2-Seitzer-!-I-don-t-even-know-her!!
  21. Because moderation is limited to one-dimensional thread policing, right? If you guys are this anal about where threads belong, why isn't there anything done when other off-topic threads are created? In fact, in a hilariously ironic way, "New moderator o2cui2i" doesn't belong in a forum called "Toronto Blue Jays". That would either be in Off-Topic or Announcements (which, funnily enough, we don't have). I never said there was a problem with moderation when it comes to thread creation, that has nothing to do in relation to troll-spamming.
  22. OTT's don't belong in the "off-topic" section, that's why they're CALLED "off-topic threads". It's for people that spend most of their time on this site in the main forum to discuss non-threadworthy things and hang around. They work on every other forum, but you're right. We can have a Rage/Vent thread, but we've got sticks shoved so far up our collective asses that a lounge thread is bad business and needs to be insta-locked. Sorry for upsetting the balance, Mr. Forum Police.
  23. lol'd. Welcome to the only forum in the history of the internet that is too tight-ass for off-topic threads. No wonder everyone here is always raging and hormonal and acting like they're dealing with teen angst.
