  1. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/jon-lester-traded-to-unknown-team.html Reports surfaced that Lester had been traded to an unknown team. Rumors are now swirling that he has been traded to the Athletics along with Johnny Gomes, for Yoenis Cespedes. Take everything you read this early in a trade announcement with a grain of salt.
  2. I saw the article on MLB.com through the at bat app, but I can't find the link when searching in chrome. All the stuff written online is from a few hours ago saying that Lester is still scheduled to start but Workman will be called up just in case. The article I read in at-bat, however, says that Lester has been scratched according to Farrell's post game from tonight. Image of at-bat article: http://i.imgur.com/Z6a4qDg.jpg All of this tells me that Cherington probably got a lot closer in his talks over the last few hours and Lester is probably gone soon.
  3. Looking like Lester being traded is pretty likely at this point.
  4. ^ Toronto writers (baseball writers in general, really) are pretty garbage. This kind stuff has become typical. And I say that as someone who is generally a fan of Lott's. But I guess he feels that if everyone can get hits off this trash, he might as well join in and capitalize on the moronic Jays fan base that will eat this s*** up. Just look at the guy who posted the link. "John Lott confirming the obvious", probably didn't even read the article.
  5. You're from ProSportsDaily, right? Or were you just here with a different account that had a similar name? Your name seems familiar.
  6. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140724&content_id=86092560&notebook_id=86092572&vkey=notebook_mlb&c_id=mlb Tells you how incredibly well the Jays drafted this year, where they let guys like Houck, Pop, Weisenberg, Latz and Papierski go and still managed to pull off the top ranked draft of the year. Of course we won't really know who had the best draft probably until a decade from now, but we can enjoy what we can enjoy for now.
  7. If you want to be a pervert about sports, Lingerie Football is probably still a million times better than fully nude WNBA. *shudder*
  8. Wow, how did you know?! Sources are telling me that EE has developed a growth on his scrotum and will be unable to run for the next few seasons.
  9. I should note that even when BTS and co were M.I.A and the Rays were in the gutter a few months ago, and everyone was laughing about how bad the Rays suddenly became, I was probably the lone voice on here that constantly pointed out that they're still the Rays, and how that ******* franchise is never out of it. They made up a ten game deficit in September a few years ago, and people were writing them off and laughing about them in May.
  10. Find 999 instances where I was wrong, and you'll be onto something
  11. And then the day after we might not. And then after that we might. And then after that we might still. And after that possibly not.
  12. This place is on fire today. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing002.gif
  13. In before the death of A Round Baseball.
  14. Hopefully a bit more. Apparently you have a better shot of seeing Mills for sale at the dollar store than you do in an MLB game.
  15. Fine, you guys have convinced me that I was being way too optimistic. Jays take division with 92 wins.
  16. Lol'd at post. Lol'd harder at sig. That was a great thread.
  17. I still rage hard that the 73 homer season was done by a 36 year old. Roids, in that context alone, are so gay. And I usually wholeheartedly support the usage of PEDs.
  18. Extend Jeff Hoffman. - TL 2014
  19. Best post since BTS commented on Frasor's wife.
  20. To be honest, I don't really see any form of comparison at all between those two players.
  21. I don't think there's a chance in hell that he fetched them 250-350k. You can quote me on that, because there's no way in which I see that happening. I'll be surprised if it cost the A's the 20k the Jays paid for Jeffress.
  22. I know that. I just wanted to expand on it anyway because people do have this misplaced sentiment that the Wells contract has any sort of bearing on current baseball operations. I'm sure it's there as a form of reference for bad contracts, but that's equally true for all bad contracts. I highly doubt that the Jays organization is suffering from some sort of PTSD specifically because of his extension.
  23. I don't care if hindsight is 20/20, my judgement is not based on hindsight. Ive actually openly stated here how much I despise when people make their judgements based on hindsight, and that happens here 95% of the time. If I refer to something in hindsight, it's because I had the same sentiment at that time. I can't be f***ed to sift through thousands of posts on my prosportsdaily account, but if someone is obsessed with proving me wrong (won't surprise me at all) they can feel free to go there and find it. I thought Romero was hot garbage even when people considered him the "ace of the staff", and I made that known in writing. Yes, maybe I was even wrong to an extent for being overly judgemental of him, but that was driven further by all of those annoying f***ing commercials where he's got his stupid focused face on, beating his own hype, acting like he's a top pitcher in the game. Even at the best of his career, the guy was never better than a #3 starter on a halfway decent team. Every time I ever picked up the Jays roster in any kind of fantasy baseball game, Romero was always the first guy I'd get rid of, just because of how less I thought of him and how much more everybody else did.
  24. I don't care if the O's are in heat. The Astros and Royals "heated up" at one point. Oh no, I was being quite serious
