  2. Is this a joke that I'm not supposed to understand?
  3. Evidently. Why else would you hate the idea of signing Ronald Belisario? It can't have been because you're too simple and stupid to understand that he's actually a decent reliever, right?
  4. Alex Anthopoulos is a better general manager than Brian Cashman.
  5. Ughhh, it's happening already.
  6. I bet you could write this in response to any "article" that Elliott has written over the past several years and it would apply. Aww, poor pitcher. Looks like "pitcher" is just gonna have to wipe the blood from his vagina and make some new friends. Hope he enjoys the company of superstars.
  7. Or maybe that's just a typical ******** Toronto narrative, like pretty much everything ever written in the offseason is. Lawrie is gone because he was the last resort in bringing back Donaldson, and Lind is gone because as AA has already said multiple times, he was a salary dump. If they had Martin in mind when dumping Lind's salary, then Lind can f*** off too. Lind and Lawrie's spots on the roster have been replaced with Martin and Donaldson. That's it. That's the reason they're gone. There's nothing else to deduce from it. I hope Lind is as bitter as he can be about the way Toronto dumped him; he's a good player for what he's expected to do but you just know he's one of those anal pricks that will come back after his career is over and become the next Zaun. I'd much prefer it if he does that for another team.
  8. Meh. They got back Reyes (5.4 wins in the last two years, projected for 2.9 next year), Buehrle (6.2 last two, 1.5 projected), Dickey (5.3 last two, 1.9 projected) and Donaldson (14.1 last two, 5.6 projected). If all those guys hit their projections next year (you can even argue that those projections are pretty tame) the Jays will have scored 28.8 wins in three years from those three trades alone, and that's only counting Donaldson's first year. They've also sold an additional 900K tickets that they probably wouldn't have sold otherwise, and that "buzz" that was created in 2013 will probably still be paying dividends in 2015. You tried to paint a s*** picture of the Jays from those three trades and, in all honesty, you were unsuccessful. While I agree that two of those moves were bad moves, poorly timed and poorly executed, there's been far more far worse deals in this game. From the standpoint of going all in, the Jays have gotten a lot more out of those trades than people are willing to give them credit for. They got what they paid for. If someone told you they could give you 30 wins in 3 years off the market at the cost of some of your future capital, that's a deal a lot of teams would make. A lot of teams have tried to make those deals, and come out a lot worse for it than the Jays did. While Josh Johnson was a major bust for the Blue Jays, those trades still produced what look like four major components of their upcoming 2015 run, and they've done well to restock the farm and secure a strong future in the meantime. Putting it another way, Syndergaard would be a great piece to have right now, but the Jays development system at this point can afford to not have Syndergaard. If they got guys that contributed immediately and are still expected to contribute in the near future in exchange of that, I don't really mind it.
  9. Please tell me you confused Kiley McDaniel with Kylie Minogue, and there isn't just a FanGraphs guy named Minogue that I don't know about http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing002.gif
  10. Doesn't that video make you miss Lowrie?
  11. What the hell are you talking about? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing002.gif Coherence is a struggle.
  12. Welcome back, Moogy.
  13. I can see the Jays going after a bunch of traditional IFAs like the Yankees did, but I don't see them signing big ticket Cuban names if they cost as much as Soler did. They won't be able to justify that much wasted money in overage fees to Rogers to be able to receive the clearance on those sigings.
  14. You are the worst ever.
  15. And there we have it ladies and gents; the most obliviously racist post of all time.
  16. Falling up the stairs?
  17. Yeah, the fact that he hit the 60-Day DL for "neck soreness" a year after his second spinal fusion surgery should probably be really concerning.
  18. Reimold: http://i.gyazo.com/37e2c98cfb03fb170e7ff86cfc6d3cd2.png
  19. I was gonna make this post but I thought I misread the OP and assumed he was talking about someone else. Reimold is made of glass.
  20. lmao what the hell are you talking about? From the day that Dickey and Buehrle were hired to pitch in the same rotation, Gibby has talked about how it makes more strategic sense to separate them in the rotation. In 2013 the rotation started off as Dickey, Morrow, Buehrle, and in 2014 it was Dickey, Hutchison, Buehrle. Why would "baseball culture" suddenly intervene and stop Gibby from separating the two soft-tossers with a power arm when he's done it each year that they've been in the same rotation? If Stroman isn't the Day 1 pitcher he'll be the Day 2 pitcher, which as Andrew Shartstain said, will set him up as the opening day starter.
  21. I really don't think you have to.
  22. Yeah I read through that thread and I saw that post last night. This confirms that I always saw Profar as a riskier prospect and this was when Bautista was still getting injured every year. I don't think I ever would have made this trade, which isn't to say that I would have been right for holding that opinion, because Profar can still easily become a star.
  23. I don't think I was ever on this boat. I don't think I was ever all that high on Profar to begin with. I have a weird thing about shortstop prospects; they always seem to get overrated and I can't really remember the last great shortstop prospect to actually pan out. I wouldn't have traded Bautista for Profar then, and I probably wouldn't trade him for Russell now.
  24. Take another look at the thread title closely as well. CHP got ownsed.
