  1. Remember who our manager is though. Bird would be batting cleanup at least twice a week.
  2. And, as an added bonus, Biggio grades out as an above average 2B!
  3. I feel like we got him last season...
  4. 6-2 already? 162-0 will be easy to make.
  5. My favourite thing, MiLB contract with a spring training invite!
  6. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/blue-jays-vs-orioles/2022/03/18/707027#game_state=live,game_tab=box,game=707027 Game 1 is under way. This is the only way I've found so far to follow along. Don't even have Gameday!
  7. Absolutely not. Discussion of "should" is the big problem. This is where the vast majority of disagreements happen, whether or not something "should" be the case, because "should" by its very nature is an opinion, and that's where things get heated. This thread NEEDS to be limited to facts, not opinions, or it will go completely off the rails (what limited rails it has...) Also, now the word "should" just doesn't seem like a real word anymore.
  8. FFS guys. Ignore your goddamn base instincts to argue about s*** like this PLEASE. I do not want to have to close this thread, I think it has value, but I will.
  9. Glad to hear he's in the best shape of his life, it's refreshing to hear a new take during spring training!
  10. Yeah, that's a reasonable deal for him too.
  11. Yeah, gotta make sure your 3rd string catcher stays fresh, at least 3 starts a week for sure!
  12. He'll start Grichuk WAY more than he should, but that's honestly the only mistake (lineup wise) that he can make with this team right now.
  13. Kenley Jansen if we're shopping in the big boy aisle for relievers, if not a couple of lower tier relievers (ideally on MiLB contracts with spring training invites...) I'm personally happy with the position player portion of the team.
  14. I honestly cannot believe this is still a thing, there's no need for this and the cost will be staggering.
  15. Maybe, but maybe he values getting 20 simulated ABs over 2 game ABs (before being pulled for Logan Warmoth or something)
  16. Maybe we could bring AA back to negotiate his contract...
  17. I'm about to rectify your second point. This is absolutely not remotely threadworthy.
  18. Yeah, he's great on that show as well. My fiance and I have been talking about how awesome a "The Sapersteins" P&R spin off would be. Would need to have all 3 for it to work though.
  19. Since I apparently can't just delete things without an explanation... I vehemently disagree that "it's time to learn to live with it". I consider that an offside post in this thread because were this a different forum without the "no politics" rule, I would be getting into an argument over this point. The whole point of the rule is to try and stop long arguments on points that aren't strictly related to baseball, and when my instinct is to argue with a post, it's more constructive in this setting to delete the post (because I'm not special, so if I would argue a point, it stands to reason that others, not necessarily a majority or anything, would also try to start an argument about a post.) Try to consider that your viewpoint may not be the same as that of everyone else (this is not directed at connorp, but at everyone), and if it COULD possibly start an argument about something not strictly baseball related, please just don't post it.
  20. Pointing it out is fine, drawing conclusions about why is where it was across the line. I was going to (barely) leave it when it was just one message, but the followup message was where it went too far IMO.
  21. C'mon guys... You're killing me here.
  22. It's obviously shortsighted, but what Grant77 was saying is that "many were saying he was the best" which I can assume is true because I've been to the Sportsnet comment section before.
  23. Why would Conforto want to sign with the Jays to be a 4th OF? Also, given what Schwarber just got paid, I don't think he's in the price range we're looking at.
