  1. You simply cannot imagine how truly, thoroughly, spectacularly out I am at that number.
  2. The Mets are having a f***ing weird offseason, man. Dick picks and hedge fund explosions...
  3. As has been pointed out, he likely doesn't waive his NTC for Toronto.
  4. Because people base lineups on projections, not history. This isn't a difficult concept.
  5. Barring injury, I can't see any situation where the Jays go "sorry, Nate's hit his hard cap of innings for the year, he won't be available at all in the playoffs". If needed, they'll "shut him down" for August or something (obviously not tell him to go home and drink beer and s***, but not put a full workload on him) and ramp him back up during September.
  6. Oh... Oh my.
  7. I think opener is probably his destiny, but I also think "opener who can go 5-6 innings sometimes" is where I'd be aiming with him.
  8. Wasn't there some weird thing that Merryweather ended up with another option year? Or am I thinking of someone else? I'd really like Merryweather to start, give him one more year to see if he can hold it together injury wise, I think I read that they're still considering him a starter.
  9. I like Shoemaker a lot for the 6 innings he pitches every season.
  10. It's comforting to know that they were the runners up for your services though...
  11. And Groshans being omitted from this list means that Law will ALWAYS say he sucks, no matter what. "Sure, Jordan Groshans just won both World Series and regular season MVP, but as I've been saying for years, he just doesn't have what it takes to hit a major league fastball..."
  12. I think based on the fact that Walker actually wants to come back, that he might be the last piece. I'm okay with it if the price is right. I'd like one more arm, was sort of expecting Odorizzi and Walker, but Matz and Walker might be it. Walker is saying all the right things about wanting to use data etc, which makes me hopeful that he can actually have some value.
  13. Am I missing something with Josh Palacios? Why is he never talked about as a guy that might get cut? He seems like "org filler" from the stat line, is he THAT good a CF? Does his solid OBP translate exceptionally well or something?
  14. I think Shoemaker on a minor league deal is very appealing to me... And honestly, at this point it's what he may have to settle for.
  15. I don't think Kathy Griffin was in danger of getting too many comedy awards before that tepid Salome reference...
  16. Not necessarily. Jansen, for example, played a LOT better than his numbers showed (at the plate) last season. Like all voting, the criteria are subjective to the person casting the vote. Personally, I'm fine with a grade A ******* like Schilling being omitted, but I'd be pretty okay with Pete Rose getting in. This is based on me, and my subjective opinions of those players and what they've done both on and off the field.
  17. There's no chance that Pigf***er McGee gets into the HOF, right? I mean, that can't possibly happen...
  18. When your on air personality is "kinda a dick" it's not a stretch to believe that your off air personality is "kinda a dick".
  19. We won more games than the eventual world series winners in 2006. We had a record of 87-75, the Cards had a record of 83-78.
  20. I'm still really okay with not signing Brantley. Yeah, he'd have been good, but I don't think he'd necessarily have been better than our internal options. If we're going to add a bat, it should be an infield bat.
  21. It hasn't been officially announced by the team... Also, Springer has a Twitter, but exactly 1 tweet.
  22. Does that get it done? I'm not sure it does, but I'd probably do i. I don't have a lot of faith in Pardinho ever being an impact guy in the majors.
  23. Not until Tim Salmon comes out of retirement...
  24. I can't see the Jays penny pinching over $2.5M (max) if he's actually helping the rotation.
