  1. I'm not super comfortable decking him right now. Seems premature but I base that on little more than a hunch. I really don't know how to evaluate injuries. I don't know at what point you just assume it's just not going to get better. Obviously it's been pretty bad so far and yet emotionally, I'm not there yet. I'm still in early stages Brandon Morrow honeymoon territory. All that being said, given the presence of Pillar, given the position Travis plays, I'm pretty meh on this unless there's some huge imperative to cash Travis in but even in the later case, you're trying to dupe someone into acquiring damaged goods. Shop him too aggressively and I would think other FO's get pretty suspicious.
  2. Maybe it's just me but it seems like you could pretty easy filter this out of your life if you're not interested. I used to have The Score app and I got sick of all their troll bait stories about the Jays and I just uninstalled it and installed MLB AtBat instead.
  3. Maybe I'm over valuating Travis but in vacuum this doesn't really seem appealing to me at all.
  4. Because click bait for casuals.
  5. Beggers can't be chooser but I wonder how many 2B PAs the Jays can offer a guy like Kendrick? Rotate him and Travis through 2B and DH as a way of going easy on the oft injured Travis?
  6. Since I now own Hendrick in LOD, I am a fan of this move but more to the point, I got this update on the Kendrick situation from them. Kendrick, who's traditionally played second base, wasn't pleased with his role over the course of the 2016 season. Rather than start at second, the Dodgers primarily started Kendrick in left field and gave him occasional chances to play around the infield. Although the Dodgers are shopping Kendrick around, the 33-year-old's performance at the plate certainly didn't make a case to improve his trade value.
  7. That's a good list. I like Wojo too.
  8. That's only true in theory though. You are always limited to the players that WANT to sign with you. As far as I know, EE might be the only significant free agent willing to leave some money on the table to sign with the Jays. That has to factor heavily into your decision making as an organization.
  9. He looked pretty good last year. I'd be all over that.
  10. The Jays are not going to sign who they want, they are going to sign who they can.
  11. I watched it as a kid like most guys I think.
  12. It will be mostly a playoff thing. Players will want their normal roles. Starters will want shots at wins. Closers will want their 1 inning save and teams will be careful not to ride anyone too hard in the regular season.
  13. Are people really that hard on JPR for that? It was a good signing and so was Burnett.
  14. I'm going to be a buzzkill here but have any of you ever watched the video that got Roddy fired from the WWE. Man, such a brutally honest, heartbreaking and ultimately prophetic interview. The sacrifice all those wrestlers made for our entertainment is hard to swallow when you look at it in the cold hard light of day.
  15. You'd give him another guaranteed contract? I don't think I would at this point but I'd be very interested in a MiLB deal.
  16. Anyone remember Gavin Floyd? Is he a write off at this point of does the team bring him back on a MiLB deal? I haven't seen his name mentioned anywhere.
  17. He's also more versatile.
  18. Yeah me too. I like the idea of a guy who can move between the infield and the outfield and won't require anything like the commitment Ian Desmond will.
  19. Probably just cumulative.
  20. SirBJay is one vote away from clinching it. This thread is no longer required.
  21. Any reason why you didn't create it?
  22. He's kind of in an uncanny valley for me. Not nearly as attractive as say Fowler but probably more expensive than Pagan or Beltran. Just not a guy I would target. That being said, the Jays aren't anyone's first choice either. If Desmond is kicking around and the Jays still have holes to fill than fine but I suspect some short term options will get locked up before the Jays resort to that.
  23. He's only a year removed from a sub 300 wOBA season and from what we saw in the ALDS, he's every bit the negative outfielder his stat say he is. Huge pass for me.
  24. Silvergunn is a winner though.
