  1. So much money advertising a terrible product and it's not even a good ad campaign. It's oddly old-fashioned and annoying.
  2. Players with pronounced splits really aren't so bad when they have defensive value. It means they can still contribute when they forced into the lineup against wrong-sided pitchers. On the other hand, it's hard to get a read on what kind of fielder Saunders is. His numbers are all over the place.
  3. The idea is to have a better overall team.
  4. Not a lot of pop to spare. Maybe Lind? He's not really a corner OF but that might not matter to the Mariners.
  5. Uh... wthe Jays are retaining those guy anyways regardless of whether someone like Saunders is brought in.
  6. At the very least, he'll provide more value for the money and give the Jays more flexibility both with the roster and the payroll.
  7. Saunders seems pretty ideal as a Melky replacement. He's cheaper, younger, more versatile and he has a more balanced skill set.
  8. I can never understand why employers wait so long to voice their frustrations with employees they aren't happy with and let them proceed blissfully unaware until finally blindsiding them completely with their complaints (usually at the point that they are let go). It's quite prevalent in corporate culture and it's very lousy leadership.
  9. After souring on both Colby and Yunel, I doubt that AA would be in on Yasiel if there were such a thing as a Puig derby. I don't think the Jays will want to be a "second chance" organiztion going forward.
  10. More Rosenthal... http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/rosenthal-puig-game-4-nlds-benching-likely-more-than-plate-struggles-dodgers-cardinals-100914 Sounds like Puig himself is on the hot seat. Interesting that both Colleti and the best player he's aquired by far are on the hot seat.
  11. Rosenthal tweeted it. Feeling among number of #Dodgers people is that GM Colletti is on hot seat, and that ownership has softer spot for Mattingly. We shall see.
  12. But what is Jimenez really? Is he a great defensive player or just a guy? At this point, using him might actually be a bigger waste of space than using Thole.
  13. I don't think anyone is ridiculing you for owning young players though. What they are ridiculing you for (and I think ridiculing is a bit rich a description but I digress) is for not seeming to have an end game. That perception may be wrong or right but it's the crux of the issue. No one has a problem with young players per say.
  14. I'm not sure what to tell you here. If you're saying that people who criticize your team shouldn't covet your players because you'll cut them off, that's your choice but you're the one whose making the two things related when really they're not.
  15. The two aren't really related. You can disagree with how someone manages hit team overall and still covet some of theirs assetts. I don't care much for how the Jays are managed overall right now but that doesn't mean they don't have some good assetts.
  16. Yeah I had completely forgotten that he's actually a good player now. The impression of him as an overpaid scrub is hard to shake.
  17. I think they might be. Really depends how negative internal assesments on him are and how desperate they are for a shakeup. They really shouldn't go into full panic mode but it's sports so they just might.
  18. CBS Sporst speculates based on some tweets by Rosenthal that Colletti might be on the hot seat: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24744323/report-dodgers-gm-ned-colletti-may-be-on-the-hot-seat

  20. Far too rational an answer. You don't seem to understand scaremongering.
  21. Hits like Mays, runs like s***? I thought it was the other way around.
  22. I'm trying to remember what his posting style was like. He was in a lot of arguments but I don't remember much about his actual writing. I think it was a lot like Ju1ced.

    NFL Thread

Do they use money from a supposed charity fund? I really don't care if NFL players pay for orgies with their own money. Heck, this isn't the first time something like this has happened involving the Vikings (anyone remember the infamous Love Boat scandal?) but using the charity money just makes Adrian Peterson look like a huge punk. I'm not sure he's going to recover from this. His p.r. campaign is in shambles and since the shelf life on NLF running backs is pretty short anyways seems like it will be pretty easy to just write him off once he's in his thirties.
  24. I'm sitting at #5 in the waiver draft and my research tells there's a decent chance that there will be somebody good for me so I really like Gibbers' chances. This waiver draft won't be as top heavy as Tanaka Abreu but it should go a little deeper.
