Except that they didn't let him go. As far as we known, the Jays weren't pursuing other options. He wasn't happy with the way negotiations were going and he shopped his services. I'd really like to know how unreasonable his demands really were. Apparently, he wasn't so unreasonable that he couldn't find agreement with another team (and not an especially spend crazy team either). This just seems silly. If you like Seitzer enough to pursue him, if he's the guy you want in the position, just lock him up already. I really have a hard time believing the money was that outrageous.
