    Pompey is DL eligible. I'd probably activate him and drop Patrick Corbin and then with Pompey on the DL, just activate Buxton into the open spot.

    Yeah and I think there was an expectation that the Jays might shave some money there but maybe we were just kidding ourselves.

    Smith is fairly inconsequential. He's basically the new Harold Ramirez and the later could be DFA'd at any time. Ceciliani could also be kicked to the curb (presumably when Pompey reaches the allowable limit on a rehab assignment). Alford does get in the way but he might be a candidate for a transfer to the 60 day DL. It's definitely tight but it's not like Leblejijian is all that young or all that important. They're probably not going to get a whole more out of him than whatever he can offer now.

    Stroman was also considered an easy sign which was a big part of his "safeness". IIRC, he did sign for a bit more than expected but nothing egregious.

    I don't have strong feelings about Warmoth but I'm impressed that they were able to read the board and let Pearson fall to them at 28.

    Yeah but what kind of odds can one seriously give on re-signing JD? If you had Trout, there's a 100% chance you control Trout. That's a lot better to have in your pocket than a probably no better than 50% shot at re-signing JD (and a nearly 100% probability that the terms would be worse than Trout even if you did).

    My wife knows a woman who literaly lusts after Zaun on Facebook. I'm glad I don't have this woman on my Facebook feed and if I did I'd probably block her anyways.

    Sometimes I think the board is too harsh on Zaun but then someone will post this and I'm reminded that no actually we aren't.

    I'm not impressed with what I've seen this year from Ariel Jurado and Kevin Newman. Both will get the boot at the deadline unless someone still has faith and wants to make an offer. I'm mostly happy with everyone else. Kevin Padlo is stagnating and kind of a nobody but I still can't quit him yet. Arcia sucks but since my team is going nowhere fast I can afford to put him on my MLB roster for a trial run through the rest of the season which I have.

    Top offer for Reynolds so far is a 2nd rounder. I'm open to other offers and not just those involving picks.

    I haven't had much luck throwing names out there but I'll give it another shot. I'm wondering if I can get any bites on Mark Reynolds? He played so well during the Desmond injury that he's earned himself a regular role and you gotta love that Coors field inflated production. He'd be a better fit on a contender and I'd be better off getting younger.

    I would think that would just give less time for his blister to recover and make it worse.

    I thought the old Fangraphs look sucked. Unfortunately, I don't see this one as an improvement. That colour scheme is so drab and stale. I was hoping for a more significant change. Still better than Baseball Prospectus but that's damning with faint praise.

    You really think Boxy or anyone else is cool with the victim being ostracized by the Heimlich family? That's f***ed up and the exact opposite of taking responsibility. I have to agree with Pendleton, this guy sounds like bad news. I didn't think he was going to be drafted before and now I'm even more convinced that he won't.
