  1. Martin would probably be the hardest player to replace on the entire roster. Of course, I realize you're just asking out of curiosity but I thought I'd get it out of the way.
  2. Defnitely don't want to make any of these kind of trades now when it could be the last Bautista/EE year. Killer lineup, two lights out relievers and a serviceable rotation could take the Jays very far.
  3. Owns Jackson in the LOD (had to do it).
  4. Austin Jackson?
  5. All Trout has to do is basically not get injured. If he plays for 10 season he's in.
  6. Just realized that I hadn't thought about Brandon League in a LONG time.
  7. When you read all the quotes, it kind of sounds like Atkins has put a serious cap on how much he wants to spend on them and is going to try to see what kind of leverage he has to get them to agree to his terms. Doesn't sound like he's going to break the bank at all. http://www.thescore.com/news/932962
  8. This makes me like the Chavez deal more not less. I like Hendriks but I like Storen more and he was obtained without increasing the overall payroll and though it's true that Revere could have been useful, the SP depth Chavez provides is probably more useful. I'm happy with the end result.
  9. All he said that was that you were his favourite from that league. He didn't say we had to pick anyone from it. In fact, I really think it would be truer to the memory of Silvergunn if we despaired the lot of you and just went with a new guy we like.
  10. Are there really any teams bu committee in this league? North is flat out giving GD the reins and I don't really know of any true committees.
  11. Ace is technically my co-manager in that he has the power to set my rosters and such but he's never actively managed anything about my team. I doubt Silvergunn even knew about this. I really wish Silvergunn hadn't made this decision at the height of Bengals induced despair. He's satly as f*** but he's a great manager and a perfect gentleman when it comes to the important stuff like trade negotiations and the like. It seems wrong to just hand over all his excellent work to someone else but the die seems like it's cast.
  12. Don't know how viable an option Cliff Lee is any more but you made me look up his career numbers and I'm grateful for that. What a stud.
  13. There's still the matter of lack of mileage on the arm. You can agree or not with the validity of that concern but it's definitely an excuse not put him in the rotation mix.
  14. Yeah that was a mistake post. I meant to ask about Storen because there were some complaints that he was expensive.
  15. Innings are a concern. They need to be ramped up. This will have to be some sort of tweener year. Maybe ramp up his bullpen usage with longer outings and transition him that way or bite the bullet and just send him to the minors. Either is more probable now with the presence of Storen.
  16. Derp... I meant to ask about Storen.
  17. Thought exercise... What would Revere fetch as a FA on the open market?
  18. You have to stay off the nerve tonic. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/simpsons/images/b/be/HatB_-_Ken_Griffey_Jr
  19. Yeah I get what you're saying but it's pretty clear with the reliever market being what it is that someone good and cheap wasn't coming back. I'll settle for someone who is really f***ing good.
  20. There's plenty of testimony to that effect both on and off the record. Ken Caminiti was the first to really blow the lid off the thing.
  21. Really tempted to just nuke the whole thread at this point...
  22. W5 of The Fifth Estate or Somebody ran a piece several years back on cross border wife barter between American and Canadian mormons. Of course we're not talking the mainstream Later Day Saints crowd but the live on a compound with 50 wives fringe.
  23. Because for that crowd, Bonds omission is far more egregious. Bonds numbers trump Sheffield by a wide margin.
