  1. Gibby's not going to get fired over that. No gm worth his salt is going to risky disrupting his clubhouse over something that will have so little impact on win probability. Unless you want to tank the last Bautista/EE season, you don't want Gibby fired. You're just going to have to accept that.
  2. O.K. fair enough but the only way to obtain the 0.7 of a pitch you need to make your calculation is by throwing one pitch so you can see why the less than a pitch feels counter-intuitive.
  3. As frustrating as Gibby's strategies can be, him getting fired would suck ass because it would mean that the last Edwin\Bautista season went down the toilet. No one should want that no matter how dumb Gibby's moves look. They won with Gibby last year. They can win with him this year.
  4. There is no colour. Colour is a flat circle.
  5. On that note, isn't the not "having an inherent colour" thing basically true of everything? I seem to recall XKCD putting out something to that effect.
  6. Well I wasn't really taking issue with it anyways. That was Boxy.
  7. Any thoughts on what could explain such a sudden drop in velocity? Does not hitting his velocity this week negate the velocity flashed only a week ago? I would think the assumption would be that the ability would still be there going forward even if it's mysteriously absent today.
  8. Yeah his answer was a mere platitude but my question would have made more sense in BBDL which is what I got this mixed up with. With the exception of Gibbers, few owners would commit to a rebuild this early.
  9. Probably someone trolling Orioles fans. After the Jays, the Nats would presumably be their most hated team (regional rivalry and all).
  10. Seems strange but this is a much more quiet time for the front office than the offseason is.
  11. Probably has more to do with this being the right timing to bring in a new guy. The front office probably had the switch in mind to be done as soon as the infield dirt project was completed. Sucks for him because he was probably quite proud of this project and completely blindsided.
  12. Sorry, I forgot how young this league is. I guess in H2H, not activating Story until now isn't catastrophic. Might have swung a few categories in that first week but if you make the playoffs or miss out by a lot, no one's going to know the difference. Not activating him would probably only make it worse.
  13. Yeah theoretically but that also holds through of MLB teams and you would still say that the Cincinnati Reds are essentially a rebuilding team and that the Jays are clearly a win now team.
  14. What's Bandit's situation? Is he a contender?
  15. What's torture is as long wait between games when the team isn't going well. If they roll over the Yankees, most people will start feeling really good about this team really quick.
  16. I don't think Boxy's point was to put that stuff down.
  17. In that case, I think you'd better stay out of the Around Baseball thread.
  18. Facepalm.
  19. I think it's about time we had some real news to talk about. Speculating about who Barry Davis might be banging has got to be a new board low.
  20. That's who I was thinking of though I might activate Norris and slide him to the DL just to make room (prefer not too though because he might still get yo-yo-ed around a bit before hitting the mark).
  21. Can someone remind of the activation rule for hitters?
