Phegley barely plays but he's gives you good rates when he does. I wonder if his projections fail to capture just how judiciously the A's use him.

I think it has more to do with shielding Saunders from an elite LHP.

Well since they're both struggling, it makes it easier to just scrap the platoon altogether which is probably preferable to trying to maintain it with different 1B/DH types.

I hate it on TV but the ways it fits into a neighborhood block is really cool to see in person.

Oh it was a dumb ass risk for Bautista. The marginal benefit of being on third versus second with EE at the plate didn't justify the risk of going to third but the marginal benefit of Bautista being potentially called safe versus not burning a replay challenge more than justified the challenge.

It was a legit challenge. There was a chance it would get overturned. "Burning challenges" isn't really a thing. You might not get a closer play all game.
