    Whether it's funny is besides the point. No one particular care what YOU think is funny. All you really need to know is that calling any Latin person a Mexican is a bit of a board meme. Feel free to find it the dumbest thing in the world if you want but at least now you can feel included in the conversation because someone has actually taken the time to catch you up on the dumb meme and not left you excluded. Alternatively, you can just be a dick about the whole thing.

    Yes I do and I suspect that they don't want to get into it with Bautista when he's not a long term asset anyways. That being said, as a pure baseball move, Bautista is begging to be a DH (or 1B). Smoakabello is the only thing standing between him and the move so the door isn't exactly slammed shut.

    Venditte jumping ahead of Tepera on the depth chart makes too much sense.

    If they had signed Bautista, it would really make all the sense in the world to start easing him into more DH or 1B starts and give OF start to Pompey (or even Ceciliani). With Jose only hear for one year though, I don't know if they risk disrupting him for something that's not a long term thing. On the other hand, if you assume that the front office already has something like this in mind, it would explain why they didn't invest any real money into 1B.

    Hopefully, he'll start looking better sooner rather than later.

    That's the downside with keeping a guy around mostly because he's a good teammate. You run the risk of having to make an unpopular decision down the road.

    Regardless of mechanics, there's no precedent of him registering velocities as low as he has this year so yeah I don't know if it's really meaningful though it is certainly interesting. Maybe he can do a little better with some tinkering in the delivery but you have to figure there's an underlying strength issue. Hopefully he simply gets stronger by May or something. I'm certainly not writing him off but I don't think it makes sense to be unconcerned.

    Yeah there's no plan B really. They could start giving Floyd a bit more leverage but other than that, there's no a whole lot to be down with the bullpen role. Cecil will start doing Cecil things sooner than later. Storen is more worrisome.
