  1. I couldn't care less about leaving him off the list. Like NJH that said that one sentence was absurd even if you are pessimistic (which I'm fine with, I'm fairly pessimistic about pretty much the whole system right now).
  2. It's just like Wilner to make a meaningless statement like that. Just adjust "the best" to include as many pitchers as you need to cover wherever Dickey ranks.
  3. Yeah I'm agreeing with you on that but he's also clearly not maintaining his velocity like he has in the past. It's weird to me that an objective piece of data like that would just be ignored. That being said, batting Pillar leadoff requires ignoring a LOT of data so I guess that's just the way these things go. The velocity we saw from Storen yesterday probably means he's close to 100% anyways so it could all be moot very soon.
  4. Ridiculous to close the lid on someone that young. The widest possible range of outcomes is still on the table.
  5. All things considered Storen has pitched really well but I don't love the way he's being used. Once he gets that missing tick on the fastball, he'll be money, especially considering that he's relatively effective now. I just don't love that he's being used as if he were 100% when he's not quite there. Hopefully, he'll get better before it bites the Jays in the ass.
  6. June is pessimistic? Hardly. Pessimistic is we don't see him at all this year. I'd put better odds on that than seeing him before June.
  7. AA was in a rush to get value from his prospects whether through trade or pushing them to the roster (Castro, Osuna), I think what he did with Pompey was just part of that m.o.
  8. You're end of the trade is easy to get. You might lose the trade on paper or long term but you're going all in with an old roster.
  9. I just don't understand a team in your position taking on all the risk in the trade. MadBum is the best player in the trade ATM. That's who a contender should want on their roster.
  10. Hansel who only ranks at 20 might be the most intriguing name on that list.
  11. Probably has more to do with giving Bautista a day off from the field.
  12. You might be right but why leave so much space between Smoak and the other guys? Odd.
  13. Smoak not listed as available on the bench on that lineup card. Maybe he's injured? Would somewhat explain the weird lineup.
  14. First place. http://www.gunaxin.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Screen-Shot-2011-10-07-at-9.05.29-PM-560x267.png
  15. Yeah but judging by the performance maybe Osuna needed the work to get sharp. If Osuna is gang busters next time, Gibby looks pretty smart here.
  16. Quite making it weird. Seriously.
  17. Hendriks has been pretty bad so far. It's way too early to call the trade anyways but at this point, even with Chavez in the pen it doesn't actually look worse.
  18. The bright side is that the front office did not sink a whole lot of money into Smoakabello so there should be no real reluctance from a financial perspective to pull the plug. Dump Colabello, relegate Smoak to backup duty, call up Pompey. The real sticking point is the potential fight with Bautista over less OF play.
  19. Send me all your injured/slumping stars.
  20. Edwin not playing 1B has more to do with injury protection than anything else. He's really not that bad.
  21. Garbage throw.
  22. FFS, that foul line.
