Best play of the season for Goins? That was a hell of a throw to make with your momentum going the other way. No one would blame the 2B for taking the sure out at 1st there.

I don't know anything about him but he's basically college age so hard to read much into the offensive numbers until he hits the high minors.

I have been enjoying the tough requirements in LOD. It forces people to plan ahead, make more trades and just generally work a little harder to put together a functional roster. It gives an approximation of dealing with the real life defensive limitations of players. That's LOD generally though, really challenging and closer to real life.

Well even his good games can be deceptive. He pads his counting stats through sheer volume but he doesn't defend well and most infuriatingly he creates a lot of opportunities for the other team off his missed shots. If you look at his 2016 playoffs game log, you'll see that his overall +/- is negative. He really has to do a lot offensively to make up for all the opportunities he creates for the other team and when he doesn't, his overall impact is negative. As other pointed out, he's at his best when he can drive to the net and draw fouls. When he doesn't draw the foul, he ends up settling for a terrible shot like a double coverage fading jumper, a two from just inside the line or an awkward three attempt airball.

Derozan is like a guy who hits homeruns but doesn't provide value on defense or maintain a good OBP. Joe Carter?

Powell is a more complete player. Plays good defense. Wouldn't be the focal point of the offense and that's fine.

Best we can hope for is the end for Derozan, which seem highly probable at this point.

Every year it's the same old story. Team has great depth but the front line talent is a let down.

One thing to keep in mind is that breakout players testing positive is probably more coincidence than anything else. We don't know that Gordon and Colabello weren't using previously in their careers. We don't know that there aren't a whole bunch of steady performers who are taking PEDs (though it seems very likely). The Dee Gordon took PEDs to steal a contract from the Marlins narrative is just that, a narrative. There's not necessarily a whole lot to substantiate it. Deep down, the owners are probably fine with players taking PEDs as long as they produce on the field and don't get caught so I don't think there's any huge push for tougher rules. That pressure mostly comes from outside the game.

I guess I can hold on to him if no one makes a decent offer. Marte's heating up and I'll have to activate him fairly soon anyways so I would like to clear a spot. I guess it could jettison someone else like Smoak or Raburn.
