    Agreed though Tepera might be fresher. This is probably just a temporary move until someone better comes off the DL.

    I think if you were to see it anywhere it would be in a sport without guaranteed contracts. In baseball, you have so much more to lose.

    Smoak has a good contract and was going to be in no worse than a time share with Cola. I don't think anyone seriously believes he would have done this.

    The denial bothers me more than the act itself.

    This sums up the situation pretty nicely. Team is trying to squeeze one last run out of an old core, a solid if unspectacular b cast and little potential support from the farm system. The only young core player is Stroman and he's a) has a relatively thin track record and has used a less than optimal approach.

    Even that is somewhat understandable given how effectively he's managing to garner sympathy. You would think after Ben Johnson, Lance Armstrong and countless others people would be skeptical of these denials but since so many people still seem to want to believe them, the denials will keep coming. Users almost always start by denying.

    Jays and Dickey were pretty much the same at this point last year. Lots of ball left to be played.

    I think Storen should be on the DL. It doesn't make sense to keep running him out there when he's clearly not 100%.

    Bo Schultz is close to coming off the DL. He wasn't that bad last year.

    Syndergaard was the Mets choice.

    This seems counter-intuitive to me given how often he gets tagged in the first inning.

    In terms of hype about equal but Syndergaard consistently put up better numbers in the minors.

    Sadly he seems to be getting worse not better.

    DL Storen, call up Girodo, relegate Venditte to mop up duty. Eventually Sanchez will join the bullpen if only to limit his innings. Chavez or Hutch gets the rotation spot.

    The substance he took isn't even legal so it seems pretty far fetched that he would have to this through an over the counter supplement. Must have got it from another player. At best, he was careless. At worst, he's lying.

    Storen needs to be DL'd. He's clearly not 100%. These guys always have some kind ailment. Use that as an excuse and get him right already.

    Why would anyone believe him though? His story makes zero sense.
