  1. I'm skeptical of this but I have already been a bit harsh towards you and arguing the sincerity of your opinion would be pretty puerile. I'll take this at cash value and drop the argument. Regardless of our disagreement on the merits of hiring Bush, I think we both agree that the Rangers handled this beef with Bautista like a bunch of clowns.
  2. I guess he could slide into the Colabello/Dominguez/Burns role.
  3. FFS. Only maybe half of us top would call it a "sucker punch" but nice job moving the goal posts, joker.
  4. Except it doesn't speak negatively to the Jays or the Rangers. Baseball teams hire all sorts of people. That's the business and the Rangers and Jays are not exceptional in that sense. Would you argue that the Jays are not class because they had a hot head like Lawrie on the team? No of course not. It's just as dumb to make that argument about the Rangers unless you want to come off like a blind homer. Odor is a piece of s*** but do you really think the Jays would lift his nose at his talent if he was in their own organization and not the Rangers? It's an idiotic line of reasoning.
  5. Well if that's what you believe maybe you should hang out with willfully blind Orioles homers. If only there was some sort of exclusive community for such people...
  6. Bush is not the only player with a troubled past to get signed to a MLB team. Texas is not exceptional in this sense and neither was Toronto when they signed him. You have no point. You make no sense. You just run your mouth.
  7. Bats always maintains his composure in interviews. I think he enjoys showing up the people who expect him to come off like a hothead.
  8. The Rangers also have a zero tolerance policy with Bush. He's even under a strict prohibition to not touch alcohol. Point?
  9. No of course not but since that hasn't happened what's your point exactly?
  10. You know Bush was once a Blue Jay right?
  11. You said that Bush waited until the last at-bat to throw at Bautista. This makes no sense. Did you mean the Rangers waited until the last at-bat because that would actually makes sense? It's certainly not Bush's fault that his teammates or manager didn't take care of it before. Because they didn't, Bush ended up the fall guy.
  12. Uh... Bush only faced Bautista once in the game. Did you miss the part where he came in as a reliever or did you leave that out because it doesn't fit your narrative?
  13. Not to mention, he's probably the last player who wants to make waves right now. He shouldn't have been dragged into this. Funny how guys like Holland and Dyson who have been running their mouth the whole time passed on multiple opportunities to send "their message".
  14. Well Sanchez is reportedly on an innings limit so it probably will happen at some point but not for the reasons he thinks. If you consider that a) the starting depth is really good right now and the bullpen could probably use him and c) he's not expected to start all year anyways than there's an argument to be made for putting him there now (mind you I doubt Blair is doing a good job of making that argument). The catch with using Sanchez as a reliever now is that you would prefer to have him make all his starts firsts and only transition once rather than start, relieve, then maybe get stretched out and make more starts down the line. Push comes to shove, I'm against it. I think that now that Floyd has established himself as the main setup guy, the bullpen situation isn't as desperate as some are making it out to be but if it were, I could see the argument for the move.
  15. Yeah not sure why Admin is mis-characterizing his own board like this. When do we all agree on anything? Never. This place is hardly monolithic. There would be people taking different sides of any debate like they're always is.
  16. Which is why it was so chicken s*** of the Rangers to do it the way they did it. Whether the Jays we'll want to pursue this next year we'll probably depend entirely on whether Donaldson still has lingering bitterness towards Odor and others. It will be essentially be "his team" next year and he does have a somewhat Bautista like edge to him.
  17. I keep looking at this graph and it continues to not look promising and you see the same trend across all his pitches. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=6983&position=P&pitch=FA
  18. Well good then because what the hell did Martin do to deserve that? Also, with all apologies to Andeopoulos, bullpen catchers are expendable and should have the real catcher's back so I'm glad he stepped in.
  19. Nah... I'm pretty sure he grasped the rule and violated it on purpose this time.
  20. It's really crazy how much weight Law's list has. He doesn't see any of these guys enough to scout them properly but he still gives way too much weight to what he sees in these micro samples. Ignoring for a moment everything that's wrong about Law, no one could make that approach work.
  21. The video I posted if from when Barrett punched AJP after a collision at home. AJP was the runner.
  22. Odor doesn't deserve a longer suspension than Barrett did.
  23. Boxy going all "Fire Joe Morgan" on Orioles Hangout is pretty awesome. At first I was against it because it all seems so petty but now I'm embracing it for it's sheer entertainment value. I have no doubt that Boxy's annotated Cliff Notes version is way more fun to read than the actual board would be.
