  1. And Gose makes the team then as the 4th OF?
  2. Maybe he found someone to take Sierra.
  3. I'd almost imagine he'd have make a move to get rid of a couple more out-of-option players unless he's going to just keep releasing people.
  4. Can T play center passably?
  5. I'm rooting for the guy.
  6. I saw on MLBTraderumors that Micah Owings is still available. Has anyone seen him play the outfield? He might be an interesting piece to put in AAA and have him play the outfield and pitch.
  7. Rickey Henderson is my favorite player of all time. I know he was cocky but there is something about a player who is so confident in himself that he can tell the opposing team that he's going to steal a base and can still pull it off. As for my least favorite player it has to be JPA. I can't think of another player who is so full of himself but contributes at historically bad levels.
  8. Exactly, and what's the probability that you can find those guys and be able to stick them in the minors?
  9. I would too. Both Izzy and Ricky are lost. At least we would fill a positional need with Uggla and while we can't seem to develop players the PTBNL might add some value.
  10. Who knows but maybe if he keeps going up and going down someone will take a flyer on him.
  11. Scoring runs wasn't a problem last year and this is essentially the same team. The problem was the horrible defense (which has been addressed) and the inconsistent pitching (which hasn't)
  12. RR is such a mess. Call him up just to DFA him and hopefully someone will take him.
  13. I agree with you on this. I would love to have a ton of guys who have electric arms but if they can only stay on the mound for 10 starts it really puts a damper on the rest of your roster. It's the reason why you have to have good depth. Having someone (or a couple) like Buehrle who have shown to routinely go 200 innings with decent numbers is incredibly important for the consistency of the team.
  14. I think that given the uniqueness of what we have in our rotation, we need to optimize the outcome since we didn't sign anyone new. , flutterer, flamerthrower, junkballer, some guy, flamethrower, repeat
  15. I don't really see a downside to having him be the last starter. It will limit his innings while also (hopefully) making Dickey more effective
  16. I think what would make most sense is wait for an injury to arrive to another team and try to get a high upside player who is still in the minors and try to trade an out-of-options guy for him.
  17. Ewwwwwww. That's a hard 19.
  18. Trying to be Yadier without having his talent or skillset.
  19. I think it would be fun to keep this thread the entire year and just add to it every time JPA talks stupid. Since he no longer is on the team I can't imagine anyone would get upset over what he says. It might be fun to keep tabs on our favorite failed COTF.
  20. If RR can get back to finding the strike zone it would make not signing another pitcher this offseason easier to handle. It would be like getting a new pitcher since he's so far down on the depth chart you almost forget he still exists. Maybe he has a new girlfriend?
  21. Ride the starting wave for as long as you can and if/when he shows issues with durability or he is no longer affective move him to the pen. Even Mo started out as a starting pitcher.
  22. I would have no problem for Happ making the team if he showed he could pitch the way he did at the beginning of last year. From what I recall, he was our best starter for the first few months of the season. Ideally though he would be a spot starter/swing man.
  23. Of course he was pissed but in reality he had no reason to be in the 25 man roster. Man couldn't (still can't?) hit a broad side of a fat chick.
  24. I can understand why the Jays are doing this. They probably just want to get their catchers acclimated to catching knuckleballs so they don't have to go outside and get Thole or Blanco to do it, they can keep them in house
