  1. I'm with you. I don't really see any reason to trade either unless the offer blows your socks off. I might be in the minority but I wouldn't mind trying to see what Semien is looking for in an extension with an understand that he plays both 2nd and SS along with Bo doing the same. It wouldn't be a bad thing to have the flexibility of two shortstops that could be starters on the roster and you can use Biggio to spell 2nd base as well.
  2. I feel like it always get sorted out with DFA a borderline RP or a 5th infielder/outfielder that typically ends up clearing or being claimed by a bad club in hops of striking lighting in a bottle.
  3. I just got home from work and saw that the Jays were winning and I turn the TV on to bases loaded and a guy that can't throw strikes. Ugh
  4. My dad was fairly athletic growing up in a small town in northern Pennsylvania where all the boys had to play sports because there were only like 30 boys in the high school. When I was like 4 or 5 my dad started me playing by just playing catch or hitting. He said that he would try to teach me to hit right handed and I kept just going back to hitting lefty. When I got to be 12 I signed up for our rec league (didn't have Little League in our area) and I got assigned to the Yellow team who was coached by Chuck. He was so awesome because he just wanted us to have fun. Winning didn't matter to him he just wanted to teach us how to play and let us enjoy ourselves. If you stepped away from a pitch while swinging or let a ball go through your legs it was 10 pushups. I played 2 years total. Catcher, 2nd base, and center the first year and my second year I was the fattest shortstop in the league (5'5" 194 lb). Looking back on it I was the most un-stereotypical player ever. In the field I got to everything but with a relatively noodle arm and in the batters box I was a fat slap singles lead off guy who always got a piece of it. I miss playing.
  5. The Dodgers are like the one team that can waste a roster space and still win a World Series. I get it for them.
  6. I still believe in Danny and Kirk and our depth in that position is insane so I don't really wanna worry about catcher. I think it's one of the few positions we don't have to worry about.
  7. It's nice to have a "4th outfielder" who isn't garbage.
  8. If we DFA Zeuch do you think he'd be claimed?
  9. Can we just say we are intentionally walking everyone to speed up the game?
  10. Has anyone upgraded to the new one? I have '21 and don't do online leagues or anything, I just would like to know if it is worth the upgrade.
  11. I'm loving every minute of it. The grocery manager in my store is a huge A's fan and we have a bet of $1 a win difference and the fact that they've been spanked every game except this one tickles me.
  12. I've subscribed every year since I could afford too and it's easily the best $130 a year I spend. During baseball season my relaxation time is coming home from work 6 days a week and watch the game with a nice beer in hand. Living in Lancaster County and then Philly I had really never seen them play before before MLB.TV.
  13. From what I recall, I think he thought he was unjustly targeted for those bans and decided to step away from posting. I think he still lurks and occasionally posts.
  14. I went to school for audio/video/tv production and took a few classes in actually being talent and it's not something everyone can do. Pretty much everything is scripted at least somewhat including live sporting events. If you have noticed for the most part most broadcasting teams have a mix of professional broadcasters and former players. Even though it's not baseball I think the best example of this I can remember would be Inside the NBA in the 2000s where Ernie Johnson played point guard in the broadcast with Kenny and Charles. He was the one that kept the show moving forward and everyone on target.
  15. I have a friendly bet with a coworker who is an A's fan that the Jays will win more games than them. When I told him that most publications rank the A's farm system bottom 10 in the league he was pissed. I enjoyed it.
  16. I think one of the issues with it is that it's just 3 former players and not a professional trained broadcaster amongst them.
  17. I'm kinda disappointed that MLB.TV doesn't televise spring training games unless they are live even after I got charged like $80 for half a season even though a full season is like $120.
  18. I'm assuming you're just talking Jays catchers in general and not just those drafted or signed as an IFA by the Jays because we traded for Reese.
